Video footage captured the baffled air control operators speaking by radio with the pilots, who were doing their best to explain the bizarre situation. As they did so, the airport staff were trying to establish the protocol for such a scenario, Gulf News reported.

Plane Turns Around After Mother Left Baby at Airport

Other similar incidents have taken significantly more time to resolve. In October 2018, for example, a German couple left their 5-year-old daughter at an airport in the southern city of Stuttgart.

Police found the girl wandering around the airport, and it was not clear how long she had been left alone. Her mother later called police to see if her daughter had been found. The woman explained that she and her husband drove different cars home from the airport, and each parent thought the child was with the other.

How in the world do you.....?

ETA: Okay. I can see the incident where the family was leaving the airport, for home. Each driving a separate vehicle. Each assuming the other has the child with the other. But here, you are getting onto the plane. I just need to laugh!

So uh did they alert airport staff to watch the baby while they were returning?
I feel like we are missing something here. I have seen some headlines saying it was a newborn but nothing definitive.
I mean wow... nobody said "excuse me, I think you are forgetting something?"

IKR?! Really! Granted, the child may have been sound asleep the entire time. But oh my if someone had come along looking for a baby.... That timing would have been horrible!

Maybe this is a new baby and mom has PPD.
I get post partum anxiety so it's incomprehensible to me that anyone could leave a baby in a busy place.

My friend has informed me that not all new moms wear their baby constantly in public. I couldn't have gone out in public without wearing him! Nobody is taking my kid if he's attached to me. That's probably too much websleuths talking though.

I'm just glad that everyone is okay this time. Hopefully if Mom needs help or support she gets it.

I think that someone said it was a new born babe? It could be that the mom just got flustered and wasn’t used to carrying the new baby. Poor momma :( Traveling with kids is such an art.

Relax, they said. You’ll have fun, they said. And as realization hit like a snowball in the face, can you just imagine the anguish that poor momma went through?!

But, still, how in the world do you forget your baby?! Forget your belt? Okay. Forget your hairbrush? Okay. IMO a story for the ages

Worst. Vacation. Ever. I know in N. America if you get beligerent and divert a flight you are Invoiced a huge amount due to FAA guidelines. But I’m not sure about a forgotten baby. What a 🤬🤬🤬🤬 show, Idk how it works in other areas of the world but here you’d probably get a dhs case worker all up in your business.
