ok JVM is not even discussing it on her show so I'll take it as not such a big deal. Wait...we still have NG...BREAKING NEWS...if she unleashes the lawyers to discuss this, we might have a problem (getting my mute button ready just in case). LOL

I dont watch her but the national media is usually two steps behind the local news.

They play catch up and then call it a BOMBSHELL! lol

imo

I read the post, it wasn't a poster outing a juror for misconduct. The poster was claiming to have 2nd/3rd hand knowledge of the deliberations. The poster didn't claim the juror was doing anything wrong.

Here is the letter from Judge Stephans asking for investigation http://www.wral.com/asset/specialreports/michelleyoung/2012/03/06/10821695/20120306170659598.pdf
Yes, this was posted a couple of pages ago, but good to repost for those who missed it.
I read a couple of the Jennifer woman's other posts, and I believe she was trying to start s()*@ and out a juror for sure.
She knows that her friend's hairdresser getting texts from a juror is considered misconduct because she follows a lot of criminal cases, and has a strong opinion about the DA's office, Sheriffs office, and the case against JY in general.

OT but RELEVANT!

Sound familiar?

Cooper judge orders probe of possible juror misconduct

Superior Court Judge Paul Gessner received an e-mail Friday morning about one of the jurors allegedly talking in public about the case.

Oh brother. I wonder if this is the same person doing this. What a waste of money and resources. And emotions of the victims' families.

I agree and she's definitely not a fan of the DA and state's case against JY is she? At least from her other posts I saw.

I'm not a "fan" of the DA or the States case either in that I don't think the case was proven beyond a reasonable doubt JMO - BUT - to post nonsense about a juror, for ANY reason, EVEN if it's true, is criminal IMO. If what she said was true, it should have been reported to the court. If true, the FB poster, the hairdresser AND the juror need to be jailed! :maddening:

Why would the hairdresser and the poster need to be jailed if it were true? What law have they broken?

Sounds like she'll now have a first hand account of what its like to be directly involved with a criminal case and meeting with the DA's office.

I would not want to be in their shoes, the friends or the hairdressers - that is if the friend and the hairdresser exist.

o/t Hairdressers seem to know everyone's business. Good grief. Why do some women tell their hairdressers everything? :boohoo:

No idea. I get my haircut in an awkward silence, each of us waiting for the other to break the ice.

There's no law against being stupid, being a gossip, or even making stuff up to post on facebook. The only one who could get in trouble would be a juror in the case and they (I think) could be held in contempt of court if they communicated during the trial.

I believe Jason Young will be spending the rest of his life in jail, as he should after brutally murdering his wife Michelle.

Don't think that this new matter holds any water against his trial.

:floorlaugh::floorlaugh::floorlaugh: Sounds like my husband :) I tell my HD somethings, but not every intimate detail of my life.

I'm just hoping this Jennifer person is one of those busy-bodies that thrives on attention and tries to insert herself into every high-drama situation going on in her life. We all know people like that, don't we?! I have one friend who all she does ALL.DAY.LONG. is post about her world is ending, she saw this bank-robbery, or famous person, and every little detail about her life that she over-dramatizes it and I can tell you 95% of it is elaborated or just plain not true! Some people are like that... they need the attention, they crave the attention and they keep doing it even those they get busted on it time after time. I think that's the case here... we'll see.

How about contempt of court? IDK if there is a law that applies to failing to report juror misconduct, but look at the fine mess there may be now? Make them pay for the investigation? IDK. You want to nit pick. IT WAS WRONG!!!!!!!!!
Regardless, if what JRussell Posted IS/WAS TRUE these people may have very well contributed to a compromised verdict! If a juror is willing to text her friends, what else might he/she do? Read about the case? Be subject to outside influences?

I wouldn't have been able to convict, but what I think doesn't matter. I respect the jury system and therefore respect the guilty verdict. People need to respect the sanctity of our jury system and not play games. Let them all be taught a lesson and be a lesson to others so others will not be tempted next time.

TBH I think it'll be nothing. Similar allegations and subsequent investigations have happened in other high profile trials and it turned out to be nothing. Someone, maybe even the DT, is grasping at straws. I choose not to worry about this ......yet.
Ditto. I'm not worried either. It's nothing, IMO.

I agree that it was wrong of the hairdresser to spread the things. IF SHE DID. However, neither she, nor the poster can be charged with contempt of court, because THEY haven't broken a rule of the court.

I completely agree with your bolded comments about the juror, and I posted something similar upthread. I have no problem with the juror being jailed/punished if they were found to have violated the instructions of the judge, but it is not within the purview of the court to punish the actions of the other two, as morally wrong as it may have been.

Sounds like the postal lady, Cindy Beaver. She couldn't backtrack her story, poor lady, she must be the ridicule at her workplace and neighborhood, serves her well. Hope she learned her lesson!

Isn't it all a moot point really? The jurors CELL PHONES WERE TURNED OFF AND PUT AWAY during deliberations. NO TEXT originated from the jury. ~moo

It's being investigated so it's not a moot point. It may turn out to be nothing and everything will be fine. The Judge did the right thing and I respect him for that and I also respect WRAL for reporting it.

It's a serious matter, if true. Let's hope it's not and the defense won't have ammunition to declare a mistrial or grounds for an appeal.
