A total of nine people now face charges connected to the June killing of 16-year-old Trey Wright...

Florence County deputies said Raper and Wright got into a verbal altercation that led to the deadly shooting... the killing, which happened at about 11:30 p.m., was over a girl and that it was captured on video....

“They were complicit in bringing the armed codefendant, Raper to the incident location and knowing that there would be a confrontation,”...“They knew that Raper had presented a firearm to the victim and made threats to shoot him...”

We all know that LE will probably leverage the charges against the teen's that happen to be less involved, in order to fill in the blanks in the story and help prosecute the main players: the girlfriend and the killer.

Did not one person among the 9 not think.. .man, this is not right. I don't want to be involved in this... even if they thought it was just going to be a brandishing of a weapon?

I know peer pressure is very high for teens and they will do anything to fit in... but gee whiz.

They wont do anything to fit in ,if they already fit with their families.
Peer pressure can be offset by a strong family unit. What i find is parents are to young to be outside the peer pressure zone themselves. We have 30 years old parenting 13 year olds and still being prone to peers , development of the adult is delayed ,but the kids are right on time.. IMO (teen mom talk )

It is so sad that a teen love affair results in the the murder of a kid and the destruction of so many other lives. You're teenagers. Infatuations last months. Just move on. I look back at my teen years and early 20s. How many crushes I had. How do some kids just get so obsessed? I'm sure some of the kids arrested never really thought this was going to escalate to this. But a few certainly did. Their lives were just beginning, and suddenly the future, everything is gone.

She probably wanted to break up with him and he was being difficult and needed to be "convinced". However, one thing led to another and the kid with the gun lost his cool and shot the boyfriend.

IF the girlfriend KNEW the killer was bringing a deadly weapon even if she thought he was just going to scare the boyfriend, in the eyes of the law she is still culpable.

His boyz, his brother , his two variety sports teams.
For why ?

Good point. With a group this large, at least one, if not more, will spill the beans to save themselves.

What a horrible situation. I'll be harsh and say these teens bring shame to their community. This group involved a lot of kids (and I'm guessing there were others who heard about it through the rumor mill). If peer pressure lead to this crime and peer pressure silenced teens, the community needs to get it together and fix what ails them.

Moo... agree a lot of stupid going on there. In the arrest pics, the shooter is the only one looking down. He knows he was stupid...up for murder at 19... Moo

Apparently, a large group of people travelled together for this confrontation and made a video of the event. According to the WBTW link in the first post, most of these kids travelled from the Myrtle Beach/Conway area to this very small town for this.

This comes across as generalized stupidity. What did they expect to see?
