LE has not said but the babysitter interviewed called the baby "her" so I'm guessing girl.

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – The mother of the missing 11-month-old baby from Myrtle Beach and her boyfriend have been arrested and charged with homicide by child abuse.

Ladasha Harriett and Daquan Simmons have both been charged with homicide by child abuse.

Capt. Joey Crosby of the Myrtle Beach Police Department declined to say whether the baby's body was found and how the infant was killed.

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – Officials are saying they have found what they believe to be the remains of the missing baby Saturday.

Capt. Joey Crosby says additional examination and testing will be needed to validate that belief.

Warrants: Man severely beat, killed infant girl; mother helped bury baby in woods

On Sept. 22, Myrtle Beach detectives talked with Harriett, according to an affidavit, and she said that on July 15, 2017, at the home on 3rd Avenue South, Simmons "severely beat her infant female and that beating resulted in death. Then Simmons disposed of the baby at an unknown location."

On Sept. 23, during a post Miranda interview, an affidavit states that Harriett told police she witnessed her baby die in their apartment, placed her in a car seat and allowed Simmons to leave the apartment with the dead child.

Harriett added to police that on July 16, she and Simmons traveled to the location and retrieved the dead child from where she was originally left by Simmons. according to the affidavit.

The affidavit states that Simmons and Harriet then, after purchasing a shovel, buried the baby in the ground in a wooded area.

MY GOD!!! This is happening somewhere in this country almost every week!!!! Parents beating their children to death, standing by watching someone else beat their child to death!! Where does this evil rage come from?!!! How do you beat a 9 month old to death? How could one even spank a 9 month old..they are a BABY!!! I'll never ever ever understand how these things happen and how some 's have no problem having children and others who would be caring, loving parents cannot. Another little angel in heaven and I'm sure the angels weep. SMH
