Ashley Murdaugh has been missing since Aug. 4, but her mother Tammy Fennell hasn't given up hope.
She said one of her daughter's friends called her and said, "The law needs to look on Bama Road."
That's where Fennell was on Tuesday near Cottageville looking for Murdaugh.
“We don’t know where she is but we know it’s been a long time she’s been missing," Fennell said."This is totally out of character for her.”
Fennell says her daughter failed to pick up her paycheck from work last week, and also didn’t call her 9-year-old son on his birthday.
"She has three children who need her and love her and we want her home," Fennell said.
Murdaugh, 30, is around 5-foot-4 and has a cross tattoo on her hand as well as "Crazy Kid" on her ankle, a playboy bunny on her pelvis, a solid black star on her lower back and her childrens' names of "Erionna, Braylon and Erica" on one of her arms.

She was last seen in Walterboro. "

The Colleton County Sheriff's Office announced Tuesday afternoon that the body of Ashley Murdaugh was located at 12:30 p.m.

Investigators with the Colleton County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement that they are confident that arrests will be made in this case within the next 24 hours.

Four arrests were made following the discovery of Ashley Murdaugh, according to authorities with the Colleton County Sheriff's Office. The suspects arrested are Martina Wolf, Cynthia Caron, Alfred Taylor Jr., and John Dunigan, authorities stated.

During the conference, authorities stated that Martina Wolf, Cynthia Caron, and Alfred Taylor Jr. have been charged with murder in the first degree. John Dunigan was charged with accessory-after-the-fact to homicide.

Judge denies bond for 4 arrested in Colleton County murder case

Chapman said the case was still developing and things changed literally up until the minute he and Sheriff Andy Strickland walked into the room to speak with reporters.

"It keeps changing because more and more information is coming out," Chapman said. He declined to provide specific details, citing conflicting information and twists they weren't at liberty to discuss.

He also said investigators were given false information to derail them in the case.

Lowcountry mother was strangled, police say. 7th person arrested in case

Earlier in the day, investigators looking into the disappearance and slaying of Ashley Murdaugh announced a seventh arrest related to the case.

The arrest, according to the Colleton County Sheriff’s Office, presents a “twist” in the case.

Shannon Fisk Steinbronn, 49, of Dorchester County, was charged with impersonating a law enforcement officer and obstruction of justice, said a news release from the Sheriff’s Office. She was arrested at 10 a.m. Friday.

“Beginning on Aug. 19, 2018, and continuing through today, an unidentified female called multiple persons involved in the investigation, identifying herself as a SLED agent and law enforcement officer,” the Friday news release said.

“The suspect even called the Colleton Medical Center ... in an attempt to obtain sensitive case details such as the victim’s blood type, injuries and manner of death, all before the victim’s remains had even been located,” the news release said.

Cynthia Caron, 53; Martina Wolf, 30; and Alfred Taylor Jr., 23, were charged with first-degree murder.

John Dunigan, 53; Wayne Moore, 55; and Tammy Lott, 46, were charged with accessory after the fact of murder.
