so the shorts argument happened while she was at the boy's place on the phone and she left to return them.

Also another interesting thing on PB:

so leaves after Britt's mom talks to him and tells him she is contacting authorities in the middle of the night and doesn't even pick up his security deposite.

This story about the shorts seems fabricated. IMO

How far away is Georgetown County?

That's below Myrtle beach. They been on the Santee River searching for her 53 miles SOUTH of MB.

So that would be the opposite direction of any of them going home? I had the thought that one of that group could have dumped Britt somewhere on their way home. It would be interesting to know where the friends phones pinged...eh?

I am sure all of these kids KNEW that Brittanee lied to her Mother about this trip and didn't even know she was there... Do you think that could be the reason for some of the "stories"... afraid they would get in trouble not realizing how much danger this girl really was/is in? ((just throwing it out there as 20 blocks is a long stretch for someone to have picked her up...fwiw))

her hair in the video actually looks alot blonder to me than what they have been describing...I hate it when they can't get these descriptions as accurate as possible. In her photos she has darker blonde hair.

I can't seem to find any mention of it being reported where the last ping on her cell was...

Perhaps I recalled wrong. I'm sorry.

Please read this with your own eyes before the link gets corrupted.

"Police also said they were able to locate Brittanee's cell phone as it traveled out of Williamsburg County, which is inland, toward the South Carolina coast. That was days ago."

Again, no mention of what day the phone pinged last and where the location was.

(perfect example of poor reporting. They didn't locate her phone, just tracked it.. In an article a few posts above, LE clearly says, her phone was the only thing missing from her belongings left at the hotel)

Santee River is SOUTH in Georgetown County

TY Fifth! I knew I had seen you post a reference to the tracking of the cell phone before! Now I know I'm not crazy! IIRC you made mention of this on the Astro's thread...possibly...I could be wrong

thank you for that phone link fifth!!!

boy, I'd love to know what kind of lead they got that led them to that river, it's pretty far away from MB. Was it the phone ping? Had to be more than that to narrow it down to that specific river.

If anyone read my last post...and notices it is gone it is because I deleted it (huge blonde moment LOL)

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) - Police looking for a missing 17-year-old New York girl are searching a couple of rivers and a highway about 30 miles south of Myrtle Beach.
Myrtle Beach Police Capt. David Knipes says officers are following a number of different tips in the disappearance of Brittanee Drexel.
Knipes says 1 of the tips led officers to two different rivers and areas along U.S. 17, the main highway going south out of Myrtle Beach, but that search Friday afternoon has not gotten investigators closer to finding Drexel.

The cell phone is a big problem for me, as the parent of four teenagers I can attest to this fact (my own children do not have cells, but I am reminded almost every day of my life by them that all of their friends do)

Most teens live on their cells. The cell phone's have become a part of the fabric of their world and most that own them, use them constantly, especially texting.

The fact that Brittanee is not using hers, or it's not being reported that hers is being used...leads me to have a heavy heart about this young lady.

In the days ahead, let's hope LE releases some info and CORRECT information (outside of the poor reporting we noted by the news outlets) as to the REAL timeline including info about her irresponsible friends leaving hers things at the hotel, not going to the police in Myrtle Beach themselves (why?), and high tailing it back to Rochester so they can post their party pictures on Facebook.
Totally unconscious.

This kid had a long walk down a main boulevard that is heavily traveled by spirited young teens in their hot cars wanting to 'party' down. Someone could have seen her as they were passing, asked where she was headed, and gave her a lift. Anything could have happened.
