I spent many summer vacations in MB and have actually stayed at Bar Harbor as well. At night the road along the beach hotels is bumper to bumper. It is also a long walk between those 2 hotels...what if someone she didn't know offered her a ride? maybe another hotel has her on camera. Or what if she had planned to meet someone from the internet and did not telll the girls because they all knew her boyfriend?? I dont want to judge these young girls she traveled with so quickly... I hope they have looked at her cell records and home computer for other possibilities.

with there being a huge bunch of girls along I am shocked that one of them did not walk that long way with her! Especially if they expected her back shortly! Also, we have to remember that they planned on leaving for home the next day as her spring break was over on the following Monday...

ETA: so like the Natalee H. case where she vanishes the night before she is to go home!

I agree...if she had runaway, she would have used her phone by now. Her mom knows that, that's why she doesn't have alot of hope. But it doesn't mean that she wasn't abducted and being held somewhere. At least I'm hoping that she's still alive.

It's so wild there on spring break probably nobody would notice if a young girl got into a car with somebody or a group...but what would make her do that? I don't think she was grabbed off the street, I think maybe she was lured into a car, or just wanted to have one last fling before returning home (like Natalee Holloway). Maybe somebody she had talked to on the beach or in a bar drove by and she went with them. I think that's the most likely scenario.

Isn't Myrtle Beach in Horry County?
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&sou....677068&sspn=34.724817,78.75&ie=UTF8&t=h&z=10
map I made of williamsburg and Horry county (yes! MB is in Horry it looks like!)

Map of williamsburg (phone ping) and georgetown county:

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&sou...5973,-79.568481&spn=0.57113,1.230469&t=h&z=10

according to fifth's link that they tracked the phone from williamsburg county toward the coast... well that is the direction of the current river and highway search:eek:

Thanks for the map...it looks to me that the likely route for travel would have been s on 701 but if they have the pings they know where to look. Why does it take a week to get pings??

  • #188
if she went in a car, sounds like it would be locals who knew exactly where they were going.

Now it makes sense why LE said they tracked it leaving Williamburg county heading to the coast! There's the river. Oh my goodness, why was Brittanee or her phone so far away?

did her gf's or anyone say they tried to call her and the calls went straight to VM. If she was in a car and turned off her cell so that it wouldn't ring and "upset" anyone, I would think forensics could have traced all those calls by now, to see who actually TRIED to get ahold of her. Or whoever she was with could have turned off the cell and maybe threw it out the window.

This poor kid...I fear her world turned into a nightmare very quickly.

map from Myrtle Beach to Williamsburg County..

This is a long way! And than for them to track the phone from Williamsburg County to Georgetown County! (where they are searching now) This looks like who ever picked her up was driving all over the place! I have a very bad feeling! I also am not so sure she didn't get in a car with a stranger who offered her a ride back to her hotel! I think cops should have a lot to go on with her cell phone... too bad it apparently died...

Ok I see now...that makes sense then. Thanks.

anybody think it's possible that the guys she visited in the hotel (Peter and his friends) drove by and picked her up. I wonder if that car has been tested for forensics (the one they drove back to Rochester). I fear alot has slipped thru the cracks in this case.

not sure if we knew yet the exact time she was reported missing...
---
I live near Myrtle Beach and have traveled through this area and through Georgetown County enroute to Charleston about twice a week for many years. I'm puzzled about the friend from Camp Lejeune who reported her missing. Who the heck is the friend and who let that friend know that she was missing. I have the same thoughts about this missing young girl that I had with Natalie Holloway. The "friends" know much more that they are saying. I can not fathom why this girl's personal belongings were left at the hotel when these "friends" returned to New York. This stinks to high heaven. Also, how did this very underage girl get into these clubs??????? Did she have a fradulent ID? When are the friends going to start talking? LE should bring them all back to Myrtle Beach and interrogate them until someone spills the beans. With "friends" like these, you don't need enemys!:furious: I'm very familiar with the North Santee and it is heavily populated with gators. I certainly do not think that someone from New York would be driving from Myrtle Beach with this girl to find a dumping place. It has to be a local. IMO.

map from Myrtle Beach to Georgetown, SC is only 39~ish minutes on highway 17 (not far... and not long drive....)

ETA: 49ish minutes... 37 miles. Hwy 17 is the road they have been searching along today including the two rivers that you can see to the left of 17

-----------
You are correct in the mileage from Myrtle Beach and Georgetown, but it has been reported that the phone pings were tracked from inland, Williamsburg County, that is quite a ways off. Hwy 17 is the direct route from Myrtle Beach to Georgetown, to go inland had to have been purposeful.

so she walks 20 blocks to the boys to stay for 45 minutes. Was she dropping something off? Why walk that far for that short of a time? In the above snip it it says the girls EXPECTED her to return shortly!

I am looking but cannot find where LE has her phone... did I read that or am I crazy??? Will keep looking

---------------
I'm curious as to how long she knew the girls who were along for the trip. I can't understand that she walked alone to the other hotel. If the girls were friends of hers, why was she alone to walk 20 blocks? This stinks.
