I live near Myrtle Beach and have traveled through this area and through Georgetown County enroute to Charleston about twice a week for many years. I'm puzzled about the friend from Camp Lejeune who reported her missing. Who the heck is the friend and who let that friend know that she was missing. I have the same thoughts about this missing young girl that I had with Natalie Holloway. The "friends" know much more that they are saying. I can not fathom why this girl's personal belongings were left at the hotel when these "friends" returned to New York. This stinks to high heaven. Also, how did this very underage girl get into these clubs??????? Did she have a fradulent ID? When are the friends going to start talking? LE should bring them all back to Myrtle Beach and interrogate them until someone spills the beans. With "friends" like these, you don't need enemys!:furious: I'm very familiar with the North Santee and it is heavily populated with gators. I certainly do not think that someone from New York would be driving from Myrtle Beach with this girl to find a dumping place. It has to be a local. IMO.

IIRC, it was Brittanee's BF, John G., who called John Hahn, the family friend stationed in NC. This information came from Brittanee's mother in the raw footage video. Apparently BF John G. got his last text from Brittanee about 8:00 pm. When he never heard back from her (2 or 3 hours later according to Brittanee's mom), he got worried and called John Hahn, the family friend, who traveled to MB to look for her. When he couldn't find her, he called Brittanee's mom and then filed the missing persons report (4/26/09 @ 4:51 am).

Thanks,
Soulscape

Thank you Soul! ((((hugs to you too friend!)))) While what soul said above might sound hinky it really isn't.. As her boyfriend didn't want to call her mother... who didn't even know she had left the State of New York! Only after Hahn was called... was the mother notified and by Hahn (friend of Brittanee and the family) and it was THEN that the mother finds out her daughter wasn't spending wed, thurs, fri, and sat nights of her spring break with her friend at home in new york (she had been communicating with her by text and phone those days and thought all was fine and good)... but she was at the beach in south carolina!

I am just speechless about her girlfriends... She had to be somewhat close to them to go on a trip with them yet they show no concern for her by waiting for her or taking her things.
I keep replaying by high school spring break (5 of us in one room) in my head and if my friend, whom I'm sharing a room with disappeared... We would have looked for her, contacted more people than just her bf, and certainly wouldn't have left her things and her behind......Leaving her belongings behind just rubs me the wrong way. I'm not saying they're involved, I just find their utter disregard for her as sickening. Who needs enemies when you have friends like that!

----------
I will probably be blasted for this, but so what. If one of these girls were my daughter, the two of us would go into my bedroom and I would switch the h*** out of her for general principles, one, she needs it for being a total piece of human garbage, to leave a 17 yr. old girl alone in a strange town 16 hours from home and not even bothering to call the police, leaving her things there as if this girl is disposable. LE needs to bring all of the people, loosely called people, back to Myrtle Beach, make them very, extremely uncomfortable, and leave them in a cell until they can tell the truth. I am so sick of these spoiled brats, I could scream. In fact, I can be in Myrtle Beach in 45 minutes, let me interrogate them.:furious:

Does anyone know if the friend that Brittanee's mother thought that Brittanee was with, on this trip to Myrtle Beach?

I spent many summer vacations in MB and have actually stayed at Bar Harbor as well. At night the road along the beach hotels is bumper to bumper. It is also a long walk between those 2 hotels...what if someone she didn't know offered her a ride? maybe another hotel has her on camera. Or what if she had planned to meet someone from the internet and did not telll the girls because they all knew her boyfriend?? I dont want to judge these young girls she traveled with so quickly... I hope they have looked at her cell records and home computer for other possibilities.
-----------
Are you saying that you think the "girls" should not be held accountable for moving out of the hotel and leaving her things there and for not calling the police when she became missing? I hope that is not what you are saying, here. They are at least accountable for these two items, which are vitally important! It is a major problem today with young people, especially females not being responsible nor accountable for their actions or lack of actions.

I believe we all feel the same about her associate 'pals' who NEVER went to the Myrtle Beach police ( good people?), left her things at the hotel (spiteful) and abandoned her in that town only to rush back to Rochester and post party pics all over Facebook.

Prayers go out to her family. Their days must be growing longer and longer as time goes by. So sad.

Hi lone, not sure??? hmmmm....

This may be a stupid question but do we KNOW that the girls left myrtle beach before the mother got there? or was it only the boys? I have only found in links that the boys had left at one am...

Also, I am so unclear about the room switching if anyone has any info on that tia...

Gosh I agree with you, I would be very upset with my child if they just up and took off while someone they brought with them went missing.

It really is utterly ridiculous that these girls just left her stuff and seemingly showed no real concern for her whereabouts and then just packed up and left while this girl was not just missing but had stopped communicating with anyone, cold and callous these girls are...they should be ashamed of themselves.

What a nightmare this is for her family. I feel bad for this girl, she was obviously easy prey looking for a sympathetic ear and Lord only knows what has happened to her..such a shame.

this might sound totally off the wall, but could it be possible that getting B to return the black shorts was part of a cruel joke. Her gf lures her into a fight and tells her she wants her pants back right now, so B goes back to the hotel to meet her. Meanwhile, her friends have checked out to another hotel and she goes in and realizes they have bailed on her, and just left her stuff. Girls this age can be really mean.

Is there any surveillance video of her entering or leaving her hotel that night after say 8:30 pm?
-------
I think your scenario is very plausible. However, the word to describe these girls as "mean" isn't exactly what word I had in mind.

What is it with married women who jog? There seems to be a misportionate number of married women who jog who come up missing? Not to make light of something but that is enough information to keep me from jogging........

I have traveled to the Myrtle Beach area many times, when my kids were both high school age and college age....and a few times when they brought friends with them. The main "hang out area" for unaccompanied kids is up north in the commercial area with hotels, t-shirt shops, and bars etc all packed together. We have always stayed in the area of Surfside Beach and Oceanside Beach further south. Still there are many places to go and things to do, but much calmer and "safer". As far as kids voluntarily going any further south than the restaurant area of Murrell's inlet...that would be very unusual for teens on their own. There is a great shopping area at Pawley's island, but not for the budget of teens staying 15 to a room!!!! Georgetown is mainly of historical interest and my teens disliked it, as it had a horrible smell from a paper mill. Travel further inland might be possible if someone she met had a boat on the "river"/ intercoastal waterway. Many locals keep ski boats and houseboats there as they are then out of the corrosive salt water of the ocean. Golfers travel down that way and further inland to the many dozens of courses in the area--over a hundred are in the MB area, I believe. Why a teenager would do any of this on their own or with someone they just met....I can't even imagine, though.

He's NOT associated in any way with the girls or boys who went on the trip to MB.
Basically, the girls she went to MB with called her boyfriend John G. back in Rochester late Sat. night to tell him they could not find her. He called the mother, Dawn, who called John Hahn, a long time marine friend stationed nearby who jumped in his car and drove directly to MB police station to file the missing persons report. All coordinated by her mother w/ Rochester police and MB police.

For someone that's not associated with these girls and boys,he sure is on alot of their myspaces as friends.

I hate to say this, but the inland jaunt could have been for a body dump and her phone brought back towards the coast to throw LE off. I fear LE is looking in the wrong area.

He is a Marine from their hometown... was just home on leave to new york and visited Brittanee. He is came to Myrtle Beach at the request of her mother and was the one to call it in to LE... the friends that were with her didn't...

I think all of the kids, including the boys knew each other so not sure how much I would put into the myspace friends. In a link I posted somewhere above the mother stated that Brittanee had known PB for "a few years" as well. Fwiw anyway. This is another strange one, eh Tonia?

makes sense... at least they know the phone was pinging from MB to Williamsburg CO... and than inland to (brain fart! county...sorry..forget..was it Georgetown?). But if you look back at those maps I did it was a huge drive! And a lot of area covered. From the coast they could have ditched the phone and cruised on up the 17 back to MB. I can see that Q!

They do ALL know each other. I have looked at alot of the myspaces, read the comments and even talked with someone that knows these girls and boys. Im not saying PB dosen't know anything about B. Im sure he might, but those girls and some of the things that's been said by them and other things have just got me thinking the girls (2) imparticular know the most.

thanks for that link, KR2! Not that the media has things right in this case but the reporter said that Brittanee has been linked to three hotels in the MB area....???

And these girls she was with are not close friends but acquantances.

You know, the worst girl fights are over boys and clothes.....
