LLLindsayy, the best I can gather is LE/CUE organized this search of the Corner Loop area acting on a 'tip' they received. I think it started Dec 4th, though I am not positive. THEN, a day or two after that, while the search was still going on over in the Corner Loop area, this woman who was camping on the south side (west delta?) found the glasses and called police because she was aware of the searches and thought they seemed out of place for the area she found them. She was not a member of any organized search effort.
krista, as far as the glasses floating to that spot, I thought I saw a comment or statement somewhere that she didnt think they were close enough to the water to have come in to rest at the water line.
So, mlatta, by what you are saying the husband said, that sounds almost exactly there along the west delta. I think you need to get back down there!! And yeah, it crossed my mind too to try to locate the woman and ask specifically, having seen her name on the news report, but felt funny about it. However, if someone else hadnt one it, curiousity I think would have eventually gotten the best of me to do it.
With that road there, as soon as I saw that today, my hink meter went way back up. (A delicately sophisticated tool used in sleuthing, ya know) Surely LE would have been there by now....? but then again, if they were concentrating on the north shore prior to those glasses being found...I just don't know. Just the sleuth in me sees a cut off road like that and wants to get back there!
