Body found in Aiken County woods during search for missing person

While searching for a missing person, deputies found a man's body in a wooded area in Aiken County on Thursday.

Aiken County Coroner Darryl Ables said the body of a Black male was found just after 4 p.m. in the 100 block of Hunters Branch Road.

AIKEN, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - A body was found during the search for a missing man on Thursday, according to the Aiken County Coroner’s Office.

Around 4 p.m., on the 100 block of Hunter Branch Road, investigators with the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office found the body, officials say.

The victim has been identified as 52-year-old Calvin L. Edwards of Salley, who was reported missing on May 8.
