Deputy Coroner Bobbi Jo O’Neal on Thursday said the black male was found in an area between Castle Pinckney and Patriots Point the morning of January 7th.

The subject is described as approximately 6-feet-tall and 165-pounds.

They believe he may be between 18 and 35-years-old and does not have any tattoos.

Coroner's office seeking public's help to identify subject found in the Cooper River

The coroner’s office has made multiple pleas for information in identifying him.

“I don’t have any explanation as to how he came to be floating or how he came to be found,” Charleston County Coroner Rae Wooten said on Jan. 11. “Until you know who the deceased is its very difficult to predict their lives before they were found.”

Anyone with information that might help establish the man’s identity is asked to call the Charleston County Coroner’s Office at 843-746-4030.

Coroner releases sketch in hopes of identifying body pulled from Cooper River

From the 'counton2' article on January 24th:

"Deputy Coroner Bobbi Jo O’Neal on Thursday said the black male was found in an area between Castle Pinckney and Patriots Point the morning of January 7th."

So many (hopefully pertinent) questions on this victim.

Could the coroner determine a time of death?
Cause of death?
Whether the victim had anything in his system?
What, if any, clothing was found near, or on, the victim?
The victim, "does not have any tattoos." No distinguishing marks? Scars?
Any fillings?
Or jewelry?

Whatever happened to journalists asking these questions? Those answers might give us that one clue as to where he appeared from. Who he might be.

Does he have a family? Are those other family members looking for him?
I sure hope we can find his name. Provide him a proper resting place. Whatever that might entail.

Daquan Williams?

Missing Person Case

Eta he's been missing since 2011, so probably not.

Eerie with the height, and weight. Not sure if the sketch of the victim is spot-on. No indication of pierced ears. Unless they had sealed up?

Or maybe that couldn't be determined due to the condition of the body... I still feel like that's a long time to be missing, the UID must not have been dead very long to be able to produce a good sketch and determine he had no tattoos. Where could he have been since 2011, only to end up like this now? Possible I suppose. ImI going to keep looking.

There aren't any recent SC missing black males in the UID's parameters in NamUs currently. Perhaps he's not in namus yet, or he's missing from a different state.

Also, regarding the sketch... Daquan was only 17 when he went missing. He would definitely look older after 8 years. His pierced ears could have closed up, I suppose, if he hadn't been wearing his earrings. Hmm.

There is an 18 year old missing from about 60 miles away. Missing since Dec 18th, 2018. I posted this to Malik's thread last night: SC - SC - Malik Spencer, 18, Lobeco, Beaufort County, 18 Dec 2018
I could not find his height and weight stats nor if he had any tattoos but I didn't see tattoos in the pictures of Malik posted. His nose doesn't look right to me but his facial hair is similar style (However UID's goatee seems fuller).

I wonder why they chose to do a sketch of him from a profile view instead of straight on? It makes me wonder if one side of his face/jaw was badly damaged or decomposed? :(

I wonder... how far away from Cooper River was Malik's car found?

I don't think the victim could gage been too badly decomposed if the ME can confidently say he had to tattoos.

Banana Republic pants and Doc Martens aren't cheap. Someone must be missing this man.

I guess his cell phone was too water damaged for any data to be recovered? I'm not familiar with ZTE brand phones.

I did some research into the phone and it looks like ZTE phones are known as 'gaming phones'. Distributing his photo at video game stores might help identify him.

Extrapolating here, buy I wonder if our decedent worked in tech.

This is an exceptionally good sketch.

If he's local, someone should be able to recognize him…the fact that he hasn't been identified after this long makes me question whether or not he's from that area, though.

He has a very distinct jawline, as well as what appears to be a pronounced underbite.

There are several Banana Republic stores in the Charleston area…if they determine what year the jeans he's wearing were sold, maybe they pull purchase records to see who bought jeans that size based on credit card transactions?

Ditto the Doc Martens.

These remains might belong to Adrian Anthony Gray. He went missing on foot about 1 1/2 hours away in Nov. 2018. His descriptors pretty much match to this UID. There are no photos for comparison nor any media articles that I've found. Zero exclusions on either NamUs profile.
