I'm a huge fan of the Panel but maybe showing the perp repeatedly naming the child is a bit unnecessary? I guess they used the already distributed and published video.

It would have been nice if they had done that.
My thought on the video is that they nailed it in their take on ZH, who is no longer a perp, but a convicted murderer.

Wow! I saw this story in news a few weeks ago and didn't realize the full background. I knew the team of killers claimed sexual abuse towards the victim's child. I did not realize there had been arrests until reading follow up stories.
It is absolutely horrendous what this mother and her fiance put her daughter and friend through. Are there other victims?
Has anyone verified what the trip to Italy was for? Could she have been sexually trafficking her daughter there?
Hughes sees himself as a hero, MOO. I wonder if others see him and Mello as the same.

The trip to Italy... which one?

Mello took the kid to Italy so he could have full custody away from the mother (or so he claims...nothing to dispute this claim either, that we know of). His parents lived there, and he started the process of getting him and the girl citizenship.

The second trip to Italy was Mello and ZH later that summer. ZH claims it was just a vacation/holiday. I have my suspicions that their relationship was perhaps... more than just friends... but that's just a feeling, nothing to support it that I know of.

As far as a hero....I wouldn't go that far. I think ZH did what he did because he was in love with Mello, believed him, and wanted to impress him. He just happened to be correct.
