A judge will determine whether those who didn't show up for jury duty will face any punishment.

According to the Greenville County Clerk of Court’s Office, Chief Administrative Judge G. D. Morgan Jr. ordered the clerk’s office to summon 100 additional jurors for Feb. 10, bringing the total to 311.

Where I live, they would send the Sheriff to knock on your door -- you can't just not show! You have to fill out paperwork justifying your inability to be there ahead of time, and then you get a letter saying that you are excused for six months.

Yes.
I had jury duty a few years ago and after the initial roll call there were a couple of no shows that had not been excused prior. The judge told the bailiff to get their information from the clerk and “bring them to me” and he did. They spent the rest of the day sitting in a holding room waiting for the judge to deal with them.

“Since this incident,” Erskine reported noticing “a substantial change” in the child’s “tone, demeanor and voice surrounding overnight visitations with her aunt.”

“Whereas before this incident she had simply exhibited age-appropriate resistance to going over to her aunt’s home, after the incident (the child) started refusing to go over to her aunts at all,” Erskine wrote, adding that “even the prospect of talking to the aunt in her presence seemed to cause deep anxiety.”

“Whether an intentional act by her aunt to take photos of this child unclothed or an unintentional invasion of personal space and privacy, the trauma to the child from this incident was the same,” Erskine wrote.

According to Parcell, the child didn’t even shower the evening of the alleged incident, something she purports to have audio evidence confirming via her surveillance system. Additionally, Parcell stated she submitted her cell phone voluntarily for a forensic analysis which showed no evidence of wrongdoing.

LIVE: Twisted Secrets Murder Trial — SC v. Zachary Hughes — Day One

Zachary Hughes has been charged with murder for allegedly stabbing veterinary technician Christina Parcell to death in Greer, South Carolina, in October 2021. Parcell’s ex-boyfriend, John Mello, has also been charged with harassment and conspiracy for releasing explicit photos of Parcell. If convicted, Hughes could face life in prison for the shocking crime.

Day 2 of the trial of Zachary Hughes has begun. Judge Fant has just announced that the media will be able to report contemporaneously. Follow for updates.

Judge Fant has granted the State's motion to exclude any reference to the CSAM materials.

The CSAM materials will not assist the jurors in coming to the truth of this case. If it becomes relevant, "it certainly can be revisited.”

There has not been any evidence provided linking Parcell's fiancee, Bradly Post, to the crime.

The defense may ask Post if he has any pending charges, but not what the specifics of the charges are...

Attorney Mark Moyer is conducting the cross-examination of Bradly Post. At the time of the murder, Post states he was retired from Nutra in Greenville.

Post began dating Christina Parcell in 2016. Moyer asks if he recalls telling the officer that they dated prior to that. Post states they dated for a few weeks/months when he was in his 40s and she was in her 20s. They broke up because they didn't have much in common.

They reconnected after Parcell noticed Facebook pictures of him at a party of a friend and she messaged him. At the time he messaged her, Mello had custody of their daughter.

They broke up multiple times during their relationship. At least one of those times was due to Mello.

Parcell and her daughter began living at the home on Canebrake about 5 months prior.

Moyer asks Post about the sleeping arrangements. Parcell's sister had the master bedroom. Christina and her daughter each had bedrooms down the hall.

Post cannot recall when he got engaged to Parcell, but believes it was after her daughter returned from Italy.

He proposed in front of several of Parcell's friends, her parents and her daughter at the airport when they arrived home.

Post did not give Parcell a car, but loaned her one when she needed it.

Post states he helped Parcell in other ways financial. He states he sometimes paid her credit card bills and loaned her his card for groceries.

Moyer asks Post about the photos being from escort sites. He states Parcell had denied that being in her past.

Moyer asks why one of the envelopes was sent to him at the cigar bar. Post states he frequented it. He then asks if he had a locker at the cigar bar. Post looks at his lawyer prior to answering yes. The lawyers and the judge then went to a sidebar conversation.

Edit: included additional posts

He identifies one address as one of his neighbors.

Post said he called 911 and his lawyer. He waited for first responders to arrive. He was 2 feet from her body when they arrived. 911 called him back and told him officers wanted him to come out. He exited through the front door.

Wilkins asks Post about the envelopes he received during the summer of 2021. Post tells the judge he only opened one envelope and states there were nude photos of Parcell and addresses that he made you believe that is where other envelopes would be sent.

Posts states that when Mello took their daughter to Italy, he supported Parcell emotionally and that she received financial support from some organizations that support those types of cases.

Apology to those who find these postings helpful. Unfortunately, they are a bit out of order.

Post had a clone of Parcell's phone that allowed him to keep track of her calls and messages. Towards the end of her life, they used an app called Signal that encrypted their messages.

Post states Parcell had full custody of her daughter when they began dating. Moyer questions when that changed. Post states she was working part-time and going to school. Her bills were building up so she gave up custody to Mello. She always had some sort of visitation.

Post denies paying for Parcell's attorney fees in her custody battle. Then says he was paying them but under the agreement that she would pay him back.

Post denies financing Parcell's trip to Italy. States that she used savings and groups that support mothers paid for it.

Post states none of the materials in the envelopes had anything to do with him. Parcell told Post the images within the envelopes were taken around 2010 when she was dating Mello.

Fox Carolina has a live blog. It seems to have a lot of detail about the testimony. Scroll down to get to it and hit the drop-down menu to read.

Y’all, one of my sisters-in-law texted me that this trial is being streamed on Law & Crime on YouTube. I went to check and it appears to be true. Here’s the link.

I was hoping to be able to watch what I missed this morning but L&C pulled that feed because the names of minors were mentioned. Hopefully they will edit it and repost it. The feed up now should begin at 2pm when they get back from lunch.

Fox Carolina Live Blog is up and court has started back but no streaming on L&C.
Don’t know what’s up with that.
