This ‘scary clown’ was spotted ambling down a Tameside street in the middle of the day.

And the man who captured the footage says it could mean the scary clown phenomenon which has spread across America could be coming to Manchester.

A number of frightening figures in coloured, circus garb have been spotted across the UK in recent weeks.

The victim says he was walking the trail at around 8:45 p.m. last Thursday, Sept. 29, when he heard a rustling of leaves and a pinging noise. He says he knows now that the pinging noise was the baseball bat hitting a guard rail.

"The individual in the clown mask confronted our victim and said, 'Do you wanna play a game?'" said David Tilley of the Plano police told us.

The victim says the clown said it menacingly in a "deep and scary voice." He says the clown had the bat in his right hand. The clown took several steps toward the victim.

And because it's Texas:

"Instinct kicked in […] and I hit him," the victim said.
The victim says he hit the clown square in the face. He said blood dripped through his mask as the clown ran back into the woods.

Our victim says he normally does carry a weapon, but he didn't on this day.

I live in Plano and do a ton of walking, and I carry every day, all day. If anyone came out of the woods with a bat asking me if I wanted to play a game, and kept approaching, I would have a bead on them so quick. Thankfully no one wants to tango with my beasty bestie from my avatar LOL.

Roseville police arrest ‘morons’ in clown costumes

Calling them “morons” and “idiots” Roseville police say they arrested two women who dressed up as clowns and terrorized two teenaged girls.

The incident reportedly happened around 9 p.m. Thursday when two 14-year-old girls were walking down the 18000 block of Minnesota Street.

The girls told police that two people dressed up as clowns jumped out of a car and began to chase and scream at them.

Authorities say the victims fled out of fear and reported the incident to Roseville police...

Update to earlier post...
Charges of Disorderly Conduct and Disturbing the Peace will be sought in Worcester District Court against an Auburn man who, while dressed as a clown, followed several middle school students from their bus and bus stop. This caused extreme fear to the children and also caused them to have to hide under a nearby backyard deck to avoid the man.
In keeping with our policy the man will not be identified while the charges are being processed.
We are hopeful that others will learn from this incident and not repeat these types of behaviors.
We sincerely appreciate the assistance of those who contacted us with information that led to this individual being identified.
