Those are so precious.

I'm not trying to imply anything or be a devil's advocate or anything like that. Honestly I'm answering this question at it's base form in regards to ANY case:

Imo the main reason LE would lie or hide information is to strengthen their case. Either by having details only someone involved would know, or by having some surprises to catch someone up in. And let's not pretend LE doesn't lie. Usually not to press but they definitely lie to POI they just call it bluffing.

However in this specific instance the only thing I can think of for them to be lying or omitting things are either out of respect for Faye and her family or because they think someone knows more about what happened even if they didn't do it.

And I'm wondering if they have the case still open for the same reason we're still discussing it, and CT, and debating his actions and movements: to figure out how exactly it happened. Because we want to understand even if it makes no sense, that way we can stop it from happening again. And I don't mean CT doing it again because obviously that's not an issue. I mean to be able to see warning signs in advance.

But this is all just me being an armchair psychologist and my opinion.
My post wasn't directed to anyone specific and most of the time I don't pay much attention to the poster, primarily the comment. You do have valid points and I agree with them as they apply to 'cases' and not this one specifically. I think as we get more facts we'll all be questioning the why's and why nots. Until then I'll just sit on my hands. I wonder about several things too.

‘We were definitely going to that house’: New information in suicide of Faye Swetlik murder suspect Coty Taylor [EXCLUSIVE]
The Cayce Department of Public safety has clarified some lingering questions about the death of the man believed to be responsible for the kidnapping and murder of 6-year-old Faye Swetlik.

[...]

“We have vetted the roommate,” Antley said. “There is no evidence at all he knew anything about it.”

[...]

“We were definitely going to that house,” Antley said. He declined to provide further details about the discovery of Taylor’s body but said he had no evidence that Taylor’s roommate witnessed the suicidal act.

Antley said that investigators are still cataloging the several hundred hours of video footage taken from dash cams, body cams, and surveillance cameras in the area. He confirmed that Taylor was seen on surveillance video appearing to take measures to further conceal his crime.

[...]

The video footage “solidifies Taylor’s involvement and him being the person who placed Faye there,” Antley said.

“We have vetted the roommate,” Antley said. “There is no evidence at all he knew anything about it.”

Antley also confirmed that Taylor’s roommate first alerted police about the suspect’s self-inflicted injuries. He said the roommate gave investigators an “in-person notification” about finding Taylor, who reportedly died of a self-inflicted stab wound to the neck.

Providing further clarification of the timeline, Antley said that investigators first discovered the suspicious items in a trash can associated with 602 Picadilly Sqaure, Taylor’s address, the morning of February 12. As previously reported, a soup ladle with dirt was found along with a boot matching the description of Swetlik’s clothing the day she disappeared. Antley said the discovery of the ladle prompted Cayce DPS Chief Byron Snellgrove to search the wooded area, where he found Faye’s body. Investigators were in the immediate area of Taylor’s home when they learned he had been found, but it is unclear exactly where the notification took place."

Thanks as always, Pommy!

This is very interesting. The roommate alerted LE IN PERSON.

I wonder if he suspected right away CT could be involved? Maybe he put off creepy vibes at times or what if the roommate had seen kiddie porn on his computer before?

OR maybe CT had made inappropriate comments about Faye or other small children?

Imo

Even though CTs roommate wasn't there when it all happened maybe he will have a wealth of information to tell LE about CT.

Does anyone know how long he had roomed with CT. Tia!

Ugh they must have video now of him putting Faye's body in that area.

No wonder all investigators involved were so emotionally affected. :(

Maybe he came home and found his roommate dead? And then told LE.

No, I think this just means the roommate found CT very injured/possibly dead, saw police right outside, & notified them in person. I don’t think it means the roommate notified them about anything to do with Faye. JMO

They don't say that specifically, which leads me to believe that they don't have video of him moving the body. I would like to hear details about the "suspicious acts" they did capture.

Have they indicated type of video. I don't think I've seen it mentioned if there were cameras on the buildings or NAPA maybe. More questions.

Curious to know what evidence leads to a perpetrator other than CT?
Absolutely none LB. All of the investigative agencies CPD, LPC, SLED, FBI, Coroner's Office did a thorough and detailed analysis before announcing CT the perpetrator.

From today's article below it sounds like they will be updating with more details once everything is finalized, but the fact they even mentioned him being seen on video concealing his involvement in the crime during the time Faye was placed tells me there is much more than we know, (rightly so).

I think so. With the FBI involved and using their protocol in cases like this, there were probably cameras all over that place. jmo

Oh, sorry. I didn't mean to make it seem like I thought it was directed at me. I didn't so it's all good. But I also knew I wanted to be clear that while I could think those things that I don't necessarily agree with them in this case. And with the new information I agree with the way they're handling this more than ever.
