they are still working on the other two cases that may be related to him and are sharing processing of the house results with him

after she went missing was when Gabbie's mother and he started dating again... they first started dating in 2007 and broke it off.... he says that grant came back around in October (right after the Adriana went missing) and it is not a coincidence

Farthest searches have been within an hour and half distance from his house.

So they narrowed the timeline pretty good, imo.

Mom kept certain facts to herself during initial interviews but has been completely forthcoming and held nothing back from LE. Many of the facts she did not divulge to press (such as blood evidence) were not released at the behest of LE so as not to compromise their investigation.

I can't imagine how difficult that must have been not to be screaming from the rooftops, they found my baby's blood! She did not run away, she did not go willingly and here's why we know.

Again, deepest sympathies for mom.

Grant was also part of the initial search for Swainson. His number was listed on the flyers handed out with her photo.

As the first few flyers were printed out with Gabbiee Swainson's image, two numbers appeared at the bottom as a way to get in touch with the family of Swainson for anyone who didn't want to go directly to the police.

This creeps me out to no end. He swoops in to renew a "dating" relationship with mom during the crisis period while Gabbiee is missing, "helps" in the search by distributing flyers, which list his phone number as a means for people to call with information about Gabbiee.

<shuder> can you imagine? What a wonderful way to insert yourself into the investigation and get a first line on incoming information and leads.

What a wonderful position for him to be in to gather info from people who are reticent to speak with police.

I had started to doubt her when info began emerging about their relationship, but it didn't add up to her emotions and reactions. This poor woman is spent and exhausted from worry and disbelief....more like shock and awe probably. Just devastating her whole life and her belief in people will forever be altered. My heart goes out to her in her pain. Her support system is essential.

After 4 press conferences and some three weeks later, he finally confirmed Gabbiee's mother was in fact dating Freddie Grant at the time of the disappearance. They met in 07, broke it off and reconnected in October of '11. He had been given a house key to do some repairs but told the mother some six weeks ago he lost it. IIRC, Lott said "he told the mother repeatedly he lost the key". He had also lived at the home for a short period but wasn't currently living there.

I think people mistake how easy it is to believe in someone, no matter how educated and careful you are. Very few people even know they can do background checks, but more importantly we all believe we can judge someone's character. They seem honest and together and you like some of the same things, you don't imagine they could be the monster. I know I can't imagine it of any of my exes and if they came back into my life i would pick up as old friends again.

We at WS know to get background checks done on people in your home or life but I am willing to bet that there are some who haven't because they believe in the person and were introduced at church etc etc.

General public just doesn't think that way yet. It is why I never ever assume that the mom was uncaring or somehow negligent. Those checks cost money and go against everything someone believes about another person. These creeps can fool anyone including a careful mom like Gabbiee's

What struck me as odd in the video of Grant passing out fliers is his attire. It's hot in Columbia. Miserably so. Walking around mid day in a long sleeve button down shirt makes him stick out like a sore thumb. Wonder if he was concealing scratches / bruises, etc.

Forgive me, I was unable to watch the press conference and misinterpreted nursebeeme's post above about the dating timeline.

As to the info about dating history now being released, I will not question LE's decision of what information to release to me and when during an ongoing investigation.

They have a "couple hour" period of time when he was unaccounted for. So, they know he did not go to Georgia or South Carolina. FBI helped to identify "hot spots" where Gabbiee might be.

I think this is why they are asking if he did any yard work for anyone!

Well its the same thing he said today!
He said the same thing on NG last night!

the mom and Grant had met in 2007 dated broke it off and started seeing her again in 2011.

there was blood found on her bed and in other places in her bedroom.

Evidence was found at his house!

He basically said the same thing he said in the presser.

I think after all he said last night on TV he had to have a presser.

I like this sheriff!

ETA-I wonder how he knew Gabbie was going to be alone. It doesn't sound like Mom unknowingly tipped him off in a phone conversation, etc. And it seems unrealistic that he would be sitting outside the house every night in the off chance Mom might leave. Do you think he had a location tracker on Mom's phone, or maybe her car? We may never know, because he sure as heck isn't talking. Does SC have the death penalty?
