Gary Locklear, Missing from South Carolina since 1974.
A blog about the many missing, murdered, and unidentified Native/Indigenous/Aboriginal women of the United States and Canada. Say Their Names!
<<Gary's 16th birthday was the next day and a brand new motorcycle was waiting for him as a gift. He was one of 9 siblings and had a loving relationship with his parents. A witness known only as "Patsy" provided an interview to law enforcement in the 70s that led investigators to an area on Folly Beach where the former Seaside Grill stood. "Patsy" told police Gary was carried underneath the bar through a little door. Where the door led or the purpose for that room is unknown. Ground penetrating radar was used in 1998 and turned up no sign of Gary. "Patsy" further reported that she saw Gary on the afternoon of his disappearance several hours before his last known sighting. She provided a list of names of other individuals present but those were withheld from the public. "Patsy" stated she overhead an unnamed man pull up in a car and say he was going to "kill that Indian." At that point Gary fled and "Patsy" went back inside the Grill. Overall, investigators admit "Patsy" was difficult to understand and a questionable witness.
Serial killer Peewee Gaskins was active in South Carolina at the time of Gary's disappearance and he has been considered. 15 murders have been linked to Gaskins and he claims to be responsible for more than 100 murders. Police believe Gaskins exaggerated his crimes in order to gain notoriety before he was executed in 1991. Authorities believe Gary was murdered by someone in their 30s. There are many marshlands in the surrounding area that would be ideal for concealing a body. No suspects have been named but there are two male persons of interest in this case. Gary remains missing.>>
