A cold case team of retired law enforcement officers from Myrtle Beach say they've solved a 28 year old murder, but the suspect won't be charged because he died. The 1986 death of Gregory Charles Walker was reopened by the team in 2012, more than 26 years after Walker was killed.

The team identified Douglas Pringle as the primary suspect, according to a news release, and the Horry County Solicitor's Office, which reviewed the case, found sufficient probable cause to support a warrant for the arrest of Pringle.

Police have not said when Pringle died.
