"wearing a black coat, toboggan, and 1 glove......" Wtf is toboggan supposed to mean? And they found the poor baby inside a diaper box about 1000 yards from the home. Hinky meter is off the frickin charts on this one.....

Wow...just heartbreaking...

3 possible scenarios come to my mind:

1) child predator steals baby to abuse
2) someone hired to get revenge on the mother of father of the baby by stealing and murdering her
3) a case of mistaken identity

I can think of a fourth. There have been quite a few baby snatching cases where the mom/dad made up a story. I hope LE will soon find out what happened.

Horrible update to a missing child case in Chesterfield County. Sheriff says that child abducted this afternoon has been found dead near the scene on Jackson Rd. Suspect still on the loose. More as soon as I can.

Sheriff Jay Brooks said just after 4 p.m. that the 1-year-old girl, identified as Harlee Lane Lewis, was found deceased "hidden inside a diaper box" in a field about 1,000 yards from the home. There is no word on how she may have died.

This report is saying the sheriff canceled the alert because he no longer thinks it was a kidnapping at all.

So heartbreaking. There are ppl that want children and many of them would have adopted Harlee if given the chance too. I am so tried of all these story telling crimes.
