looking through her twitter found a picture of her on a boat:

https://twitter.com/HeatherElvis/status/346426610783776768/photo/1

I know exactly where that is, its on the same waterway as where her car was found. And close to her current home (although I don't think she resided in river oaks at the time of this picture).

the building to the right of the picture is north of the pointed coordinates in Gmaps

EDIT: doesn't look like the link is working properly. coordinates are +33° 42' 44.82", -78° 55' 27.96"

That's at The Boathouse. A popular summertime spot.

I understand that, my point is that anyone on the whole internet could see where she was when she was making those posts and could have been stalking her since before she moved.

I have to agree with you AshleyZ. It's surprising how many on Social Media use it but aren't aware of their complete digital footprints.

I have friends who tweet but do not know how to disable Location Services on their apps/devices, which is how one's exact location pops up on a tweet.

Add that to Instagram's (for example) willingness to use images from accounts without expressed permission, because of the way their (and many other SM sites) Terms of Service are written, and it's a stalker's dream & a victim's nightmare.

God forbid you have anyone tech savvy enough to extract meta-data from the images themselves!

I think you're onto something here. Heather may have attracted unwanted attention - it's worth being explored IMO...

You know, I feel so bad for the family and friends having to wade through all the blatantly obvious suggestions, repetitive questions and BS on that FB page ("must be an ex," "have they looked at an ex?", "they should ask homeowners near the landing if they have video cameras," "they can track iPhones, you know", "I heard she was running around with a married man!").

Not to mention questions about the investigation they clearly aren't allowed to answer ("who was her date with?", "what's on her cell phone?", "What was in the car?")

I know it's good that so many people are interested. I just wish these people would think before typing a little more. It makes me tired and frustrated to wade through it all in the hopes of finding something useful--It's got to be 100 times worse for her family!

:truce:

<respectfully snipped for clarity>
Do towing company keep records of all calls?

I hope Enterprise landing is also thoroughly checked, it's 5 1/2 miles by car from Peachtree Landing.

:bump:

Please do not sleuth family or friends. Websleuths is victim-friendly and that includes the victim's family and friends.

I thought the same thing, how awful to have to read some of the comments. People could be more respectful. A friend of the Elvis family was posting on their behalf, she has done a remarkable job. For a while there she was responding to most of the posts or at least hitting the "Like" button. I don't know how she's kept up but I applaud her.

Ok, her tweets used to show her exact house under the geographic location pin thing.

https://twitter.com/HeatherElvis/status/296341894319968256

She also talked about how she found herself in random tourists photos on instagram while searching #TiltedKilt. That is kind of alarming to me, she could have had a stalker IMO who could have easily found out where she lived and was posting from.

Geotagging is a scary thing and always a point to consider. jmo

*I wish more people, esp kids and young ladies, were more aware of the dangers of posting everything on social media. jmo

Not sure if its already known. Someone close to her on twitter mentioned that "they found her car in socastee. And it still had everything in it like her purse, license, and debit card."

Any chance Heather might have been doing the online dating thing?

<jmo: you know, back in the day, my first reaction would be to say, "its probably some sick old pervert"...but now, these perps seem to be getting younger and younger in so many of these cases...its virtually impossible to try to profile these perps now a days>

Was the car locked and where were her keys?

More brainstorming and grasping at straws:

Speaking of younger perps, that reminds me, maybe a neighbor asked her for a ride to the store or something that night?

Also, I wonder if there were any parties in the condo complex that night?

Has her phone been located?
