I really believe they are waiting to find Heather. LE will only make a move if they have to, without Heather, I think. They are in the process of doing the legwork. It is not impossible, but it is much more difficult, to prosecute a case without the victim. All t's have to be crossed, all i's, dotted. Everyone interviewed and questioned, all the information/evidence put together.

This is the tedious, time consuming process. And they have to do it, while taking care of all other crimes in Horry County.

Just my 2 cents,

Salem

I have a lump in my throat and a knot in my stomach thinking this... but, what if, God forbid, HE is in a freezer somewhere? I assume everyone is referring to arrest warrant? Do we have any idea or knowledge if the home/buisiness of OM has been searched? I feel it's a bit crazy of a thought.

Maybe I shouldn't think...

This is nothing more than pure speculation on my part, but I've always had a gut feeling that when HE talked to her roommate, plans to meet with OMM were already underway- and she was crying and upset because she knew, intuitively, that she was in danger.

If whatever took place was not premeditated, they may not even have known or cared if she was alone. I mean, a lot of people travel the week before Christmas so it is not that unusual that her roommate might be away. And they could not have known she would not be missed by her family for nearly two days. Maybe married guy called because it was a convenient time for him.

Possible, but it adds up to a lot of coincidences...

If Heather's phone last pinged at PTL where the car was found, is there any reason LE would continue to not comment on the last phone ping location ?

I wonder if the date that night was a ploy... maybe HE wanted OM and this was a way to get his attention. I say this, b/c that's exactly what my 20 yr old sons ex-gf is doing... they've broken up after almost FIVE years together and she's dating some boy toy and posting pics of the two of them... it definitely has my sons attention, LOL!

Been wandering down that same path myself...

I talked with LE friends 2 counties away who said the only presser will be to announce an arrest and do not expect any LE comment at all unless the case goes cold. His opinion after 20 years in LE in that part of SC.

Snow day here, home w/ my daughter & a couple of her friends, she just left to spend the night at her friend's house, running out the door (as I'm checking for coat, toothbrush, etc.), "ILY, Mom, ILY"-I'm sick when I think about what Heather's family must be going through, I wish them strength to get through this. I don't think whoever is involved in her disappearance gave any thought to her family, or knew that it would be as publicized as it has been (I don't think it's an intelligent, calculating psychopath, taunting the family, just a generic killer, who acted impulsively). I'm just waiting for the announcement that they been caught, exposed, & go to trial for what has happened (yes, I fear the worst).

Is there any reason Heather's family would not release the phone ping location if it was the same place as the car was found ? Or any reason the last phone ping was not mentioned in myhorrynews with the police report ?

It's strange weather near MB today. Thundering earlier and rain, now it's colder. We're going to have some very cold weather the next couple of days!

Maybe?
I could think of a reason or two they may not want to reveal last ping info.
I have seen no official answer as to where the last ping was and I'd like to believe this is for a good reason. ;)

The 20-yr-old ex-gfriend has a "boy toy"?!?!? LOL! Sounds like she's committing a crime.

This is the part that bothers me the most. It had to be either someone stalking her with evil intent -- which does not sound like the married older dude had been doing -- or someone very close to her. Unless she picked that time herself to leave when no one would be looking for her for several days, which doesn't seem like her.

What if OMM had no reason to stalk Heather for information? What if she was still in contact with him? Maybe they were mutually & amicably trying to break it off & move on with their lives? If they were still on friendly terms at that point (December), maybe they were texting back & forth? Maybe Heather, feeling a friendship was still present, texted OMM about her date or about BW being out of town? (For example, 'B is out of town & it's so lonely at my place!' or 'I have a date tonight. Wish me luck!') TOTAL SPECULATION -- JMO -- MOO

And, if OMM didn't have his phone passcoded or if anyone knew his password or could override the passcode, it would have been pretty darn easy to spy on his texts to see what Heather was up to. Again, SPECULATION -- JMHO -- MOO.

I have pretty much stopped following any other case here on WS bc Heather is all I can think of.

I am getting to where I am shocked if a missing person IS found.

If you think that this is true (that someone else picked up on OM's communication w/ HE), who do you think it could be? & do you think, that if he knew about it, he would submit this info to the authorities?
