Urine itself does not contain DNA, but it may contain epithelial cells, which do contain DNA. Most healthy individuals, however, do not excrete epithelial cells in their urine.

Would epithelial cells in the urine be excreted postmortem?

from what I understand if the person is generally healthy when alive the epithelial cells would not be present postmortem. They are created when the person is alive.

As someone who has lived in this same TV market for 15 years, I would take anything said by the local news talkers with a large, heaping spoon of salt. IMO

Unless it is a direct quote from LE, it is likely wrong.

I am glad that in this day and age I have nothing to hide. It is basically impossible to completely cover your tracks and erase any and all evidence of you doing anything nowadays.

I can't help but to think about very small things that help break the case wide open. Is it likely that the Ms didn't realize there was a camera at the substation close to their house? Is it likely that they didn't know about the camera on the pillar of the gate, posted above?

If one of these two cameras (or both) provided LE with the 'video surveillance' that they are talking about, then I cant help but to thank god for small miracles.

I have a feeling If not for whatever video evidence LE has, pinpointing the Ms would have been much harder. And convicting them would be more of a challenge than the one that already presents itself.

LE obviously has a 'smoking gun' that they feel proves HE was held against her will (kidnapping) and her life was taken at the landing.

My questions are as follows:

Does the video show the Ms coming in one car, or two?

Did HE arrive at the landing before or after (one or both of) them?

The timeline (when each of them arrived, when they left, how long they were there, etc).

And most importantly, do they have any proof, one way or another, that HE left the landing? If she left the landing, I think we can all come to the conclusion that it either a) wasn't on her own free will, or b) she was already deceased.

I know most if this won't come out until trial, but the fact remains that HE is still missing. We have those responsible behind bars, and I believe LE has the evidence it needs for a conviction. I feel the most important thing at this point is locating HE.

Since the HCPD has charged them both with identical charges, I think they feel like they believe they can get a conviction for both in a court of law.

I think in this particular case, there was a leader, and a follower. Why the DP wasn't put on the table to begin with blows my mind. First of all, if this doesn't qualify as a DP case in the state of SC, then what would?

Second of all, that would be my bargaining chip as the solicitor. If I were the solicitor, my conversation would be very basic, simple, yet very stern, and to the point.

I would tell them both the same thing :

If you tell me where to find HE, maybe we can cut you a deal.

Don't tell us, and if we have to find her on our own, or god forbid, we don't find her, we *will* kill you back.

But, I am obviously not LE, and I honestly feel like they have a good reason for approaching it the way they are.

I just want HE home...

PS - Sorry for the long post that jumped from subject to subject. Because of the amount of hours I am currently working, I really only get a little bit of time to read and catch up on posts. And I have even a smaller amount of time to reply. I wanted to get all that in there.

Perhaps you have some knowledge in this area...
We have video surveillance at our business, but video is only archived for a certain amount of time, then it rewrites over existing video. We cannot store hours upon hours of video indefinitely.

Depending on when surveillance tapes were obtained, if they'd been taped over as part of a looping cycle, could "expert video analysis" reveal the copied over data? Could this be the reason for the delay in search warrants/arrests?

I've been trying to imagine reasons for the delay in putting these two behind bars if LE's had these tapes in their possession since December.

It is possible the surveillance tapes showed what the Moorer's were wearing the day of the phone calls and LE wanted that clothing for analysis.

I think so. I think that's where those IE charges may reveal something (no pun intended but I'm giggling)

I hope TM has a miserable birthday and anniversary weekend....

Where are you Heather?

  • #747
I'm a little confused here . The new F150 (Black Ford pick up truck) is SM's? The red GM(GMC or Chevy) with the attached toolbox and cb antennas is William Caison's? So where is TM's new tricked out truck?

This is another question that I really want an answer to. Maybe LE knows which vehicles were used that night and TM's wasn't one of them?? It's just still bizarre.
When Heather4Justice was out and about yesterday she reported camper still there. Wonder if the white jeep (Cherokee ??) was there? I'd like to believe LE has that vehicle and maybe it was taken earlier and that's why we don't have knowledge of it. All of our info came from the most recent search 2/21.

I also am curious to know when they were watching them if they got warrants to go behind them to recycling centers and get the trash they hauled off. I went to 2 centers today and talked to 2 different ladies who told me that they don't have survellience at all of the 24 dump sites in the county.

When I asked my lady (I just rolled my eyes at myself). Yes...my recycling center lady about video she gave me the "stink eye", stressing that every center was under surveillance (in case I planned something nefarious for another location, I guess) because people liked to "dumpster dive", especially to steel metal they could turn into cash.

I told her in so many words why I'd asked and she seemed to relax... somewhat.

Clearly, our recycling center attendants need to attend a few more meetings, do some networking so they'll know what's really going on at their sister locations.

takes forever to snip on phone, forgive me copying this long, but thoughtful post!

if they have them on video, they most certainly know which vehicle(s). interesting they took both! adds points to the theory that T may have showed up unannounced.... where does the "Heather left with them" comment play in....

I'll admit that the last week or so I'm incredibly aware of how many cameras are watching my every move....

Oh surveillance . . . it's scary! I am of the mindset that there is nothing I can do outside my house that someone, somewhere won't see. It's a good thing I've got nothing to hide. LOL
I guess that's why some of these cases that go unsolved boggle my mind. It most likely boils down to limited manpower to be able to adequately research such cases. Which is why we are fortunate that this case has a task force :) all missing persons should have a task force working on their behalf.
Where is Heather?

JMO, but whether this remark re: DNA in the vehicles had been made or not in the news, there's a reason that LE took the vehicles and I think it's unlikely at least some of the DNA they said they found was not in the vehicles. The 'news' is consistent with what I thought anyway, so the story doesn't change much for me.

But I don't get near the other topics you mentioned. In particular, I think the image of the pay phone in the media piece, whether it turns out to be verified or not, is the equivalent of tabloid style 'reporting'.

Personally, I think the local news starts reading FB pages when it can't find actual news.

I think the pay phone in the news clip was edited in from stock video.
Doesn't it look familiar to some of you locals? It does to me.
I doubt the camera crew took time to set up that particular shot just for this piece.

I think it's just B-Roll, too. It was found yesterday. It's on the corner of Kings Hwy and 3rd Ave N. The other corners are Shuckers, National House of Pancakes and Pacific Beachwear.

Can someone refresh my memory about what trips the Moorer's took after December 18th?

Yes. Then the bigger question looms, since she hasn't been found at PTL, how did she leave? By water or by vehicle.

If she is in the water, I am doubtful if she will ever be found after the amount of time that has passed. The Waccamaw reverses flow direction with the tides and there are all kinds of snags and crannies both along the banks and in the water itself. We constantly have to watch for deadfalls floating in the water.

Plus, with all the rain we've had the past several months, the rivers are especially full of floating debris. If a particularly high tide (and there was a full moon when Heather disappeared) carried her into a swamp area and then receded, it would be so hard to find her. On centuries-old maps, this was part of an area called "The Impassable Swamp."

Can anyone easily find the video with the payphone and give me a link? I will be happy to email the reporter and ask him about it.

If not, I will do some searching later and see if I can find it.

Seems very odd that the revelation of such a significant piece of evidence would be tacked onto a story about a different missing person.

IMO we knew that there was DNA... perhaps the actual location (the truck) was a slip-up?? even though they (LE) are being extremely careful??

IIRC, the only one was to WDW for the marathon on January 16-January 19, 2014. Not sure when they left or returned home.
