I absolutely despise my oldest son's tattoos - especially the amateur one that's supposed to be a 4-leaf clover but each freaking leaf looks like a darn testicle when the other 3 leaves are covered! He messes with me all the time by saying he's gonna get a tattoo on his face. I told him I'd never talk to him again if he did...not that I meant it but it def freaks me out to tatt up the face I gave birth to! (He was joking thank gosh) Most especially pees me off bc he's so good looking the big jerk! Pls don't any tattoo enthusiasts come at me, I do like good artwork that represents a persons life using their body as a canvas. What I can't stand is stuff that has no meaning at all, especially considering its permanent unless you pay alot of money to have it covered or removed. To each their own but IMO tattoos should show meaning, history, beauty even if it represents a low time.

I don't like tats at all. I have seen some pretty (little ones), but JMO, I think plain old skin looks better, any day.

My son started threatening me with getting a tattoo when he was about 15 (about the time I threatened to disown him if he did :wink: ). He's 25 now, so I eventually realized he's too chicken (yay!). I liked your comment about tatting the face you gave birth to- exactly how I feel.

But, the bottom line is, if he did it, I would deal with it (and not actually disown him). I might say I hate them, but he would know I didn't hate him. Didn't see anything unusual about her comment. Young people love to talk about what they do that pisses their parents off. Makes 'em look like a rebel- most of them love to look like a rebel

From what I can see, I agree with you both. It's her Tumblr that frightens me. It definitely shows very clear evidence of a torn girl.

Much speculation came about as a result, yet in the end, appears she was simply a victim of being in the wrong place at the wront time - the picture of where she would stand alone in the middle of nowhere waiting for her school bus is haunting -

I agree. To know what she has tattooed may be a clue...........who and what she was doing..........cheap? expensive? pretty, ugly, slave type?

I absolutely think they must have. People can bash them all over the place, and much of it may be justifiable, but they are trained LEOs. I can not fathom any scenario in which they allowed him to do this unless they were 99% convinced something having nothing to do with the car happened. How they could be that convinced is the missing piece we've been frustrated about since day one. :banghead:

I am pretty sure that TE is her bio dad, I am from MB and the Elvis' have been in Horry county a long time. Her parents are still married and she is the middle child, older brother and younger sister. They have a lot of family in Myrtle.

I've seen this othe cases, where a person is reported missing and a family goes searching, finds the car and corrupts a potential crime scene and/or forensic evidence...
Steven Thell Koecher, Utah comes to mind...

LE should immediately advise family not to touch the car, but still family often goes out first before contacting LE... I think that is what happened here for Heather.

What can WE do to help the search for Heather, JG?

I really get the feeling of a serial predator here. BUT there are 2 major issues.

1. If a random perp, what caused her to leave her house at 2:09 a.m. or later, and have her phone last ping at 3 am? Or did the perp remove her from her home?

2. If it is a random perp, then one can assume a forced or coerced removal from her home, and also that he was actually IN her car.

There was a prayer service at First Baptist church of Myrtle Beach, 500 4th Avenue, NMB. The FB admin said "our" church so I'm pretty sure it was the one the parents attended, not sure if Heather attended. The pastor of that church is a Bruce Crawford according to their website so I don't think her parents are pastors since they attend there but they could be pastors doing different work or retired pastors?
The dad either owns or works at a sign shop so just one more piece of info that leads me to believe he is not a pastor.

ETA: for some reason the quote of JG asking if parents were pastors didn't come over into this post. That is why I went into that info about who the pastor is.

I read somewhere, can't recall where, that Terry drove the car home but used gloves and the car was not processed. He must have suspected something...there is so much about this that is questionable with LE. I'm just praying that they are keeping the info close and that they haven't screwed it up.

Re: Tumbler, etc...I haven't read them all, since I don't subscribe, but...I did read a little that people have posted. If anyone had seen my journals from when I was a teen/young adult, they'd probably be amazed that I was here to tell the tale. I found some once and was horrified by how dark they were. Yet, I'm still kicking at 52. Not to say I didn't struggle with quite a bit of depression, and she may have as well. But, broken hearts are generally not the only impetus for suicide, although they can certainly be a factor. I, personally, think she had a lot going for her, and a family who loved her, who she loved (i.e. I didn't call my mother late at night, after dates). And, on one of her accounts she identifies her job and career as cosmetologist (or something similar) so I imagine she was pretty excited about starting off on that career.

Previous posters have asked about HE having a tattoo. In her twitter account she seems to have posted a picture of half her tattoo located on her upper right thigh. It looks like a colorful skull, maybe a couple of inches big. Can anyone confirm that it is her?

I agree that the tumblr posts are not alarming for a girl her age. I'm sure it seemed like the "cool" thing to do. I do not think she was suicidal. I also think that a vast majority of girls her age struggle with weight issues. I wonder if she could have been a recreational drug user. I know it is prominent in the service industry around MB. (I have the utmost respect for her and her family and absolutely do not mean ill will towards her) I just think it's something that definitely could have provoked her to leave the house at that hour and PTL would have been a perfect meeting spot for an illegal transaction. I know she is a good girl, but even good girls like to be bad some times. Praying for her and her family...

On instagram she says her parents hate her tattoos..........when did she get them? Where on her body? What did they say or mean? It may be a clue if it said something sad, or was of a culture, a saying? poem? if it was a small flower or star, I doubt if parents would hate them. Just thinking out loud about all clues...........

My mom hates tattoos- my younger sister and brother both have small ones, and it is fair to say she hates them. She thinks they are tacky, regardless of the size. Now, I don't see either my sister or my brother feeling the need to bring that up on any of their social media accounts. Maybe if there had been a discussion with friends/ coworkers about it and the comment was a reference, but you are right that the comment is odd.

Now that's something I had not considered. (I still don't believe the meeting place was Peachtree though. I'm having a difficult time seeing that as a meeting place. UNLESS, it is someone she has known for a few years and trusted. And that would narrow down the suspect pool significantly.) Something happened between her condo and the car - an opportunistic person or the aspect of a meeting lured her out. Or it happened at the meeting place.
