In the BD case Dawn has continously brought it up as a possibility of how Britt could be alive; however MBPD has dismissed it. They have also said that MB area does not have a problem with Human Trafficking. I am not sure what to believe when it comes to Human trafficking. I know it happens, I just don't know if it happens alot.

Has anyone checked Polaris? Sometimes they have updates referring to certain areas investigated for full blown trafficking. Myrtle Beach is an ocean front resort community, central on the eastern seaboard, many waterways abound - how in the world can MB discount it? Maybe bc they have somebody in mind? Well if they have someone in mind but insignificant proof to back it up then they're remiss to discount other theories - especially trafficking. My God.

Has it been confirmed in MSM that the neighbor who reported Heathers car at PTL and said that have been there since Monday got the days wrong? When did she call it in? Thursday morning? If so, she was off by 1-2 days. That is probably what happened.

But, is it possible the car was there earlier than we have thought? Could Heather have gone to get her mail at her parents house in a car that was not hers? Dropped by with a friend and the friend drove?

Don't know why I am thinking about how long the car was there...probably over thinking.

I watched a movie on human trafficking on NETFLIX, don't know the name of it. But it opened my eyes to the possibility for many of these cases. A true story of a sheriff that was running it out in a remote area, I want to say like out west. If I can find it, I will post it. But these girls were picked up by a guy who they met in a bar. He would met them out, then call his helper and arrange where they were going to meet to take her to this remote ranch. The guy would get the girl in the car, taking her home from the bar and then detour, shot her up with a drug and put her out, (I think) they then met up with the helper guy who put her in a trunk and off to this ranch. If they got pregnant, they sold the baby after she had it. It was a hard movie to watch and very upsetting, but no one knew these girls were out there. They got them hooked on drugs so they stayed or didn't run off then they took them to parties for guys that wanted hookers there. One girl did escape and they run her down and killed her. The heroin made them stay, and be cooperative.

I have had my suspicions about the possibility of a human trafficking ring being involved in many of the young girls who have disappeared through out the S.E. but especially the MB missing. The close proximity to intercostal water ways would be a convenient way for those taking the girls to avoid detection from traffic cameras that are everywhere now. Can't get them out via car, fine use a boat.

What is the closest international port to MB? I would guess Charleston has international shipping traffic, but I might be wrong. Please, let me know, if any of you do.

The other reason I suspect a human trafficking ring is the high percentage of these girl that are NEVER found. It would be hard to find a body or bones for a girl that is being held and very much alive in some brothel overseas.

Just throwing that out there. Does anyone else think that this could be a possibility or is it simply to far-fetched?

Wow. It's uncanny that you're thinking along the same lines I am.

Something that sticks in my craw is that so many politicians try to pawn off human trafficking on other nations. The good ole US of A is the leader in trafficking for crying out loud.

Not suggesting this is what happened, but its worth exploring isn't it?

Heck, anybody could be responsible for her disappeared at this point. There's not enough information to point in any one direction. So maybe all avenues should be explored. If she was snatched to be trafficked, & since its still so close to her disappearance, chances are she could still be alive.

She could still be alive anyway, but stats are against her right now. Hoping for a good outcome. Praying for a good outcome.

Yeah, I think you guys are right.

But quick question. Why does TN keep nagging me? Were there a couple cases we followed here that had somebody go missing in Tn but were found in one f the Carolinas? Greenville is stuck in my head & it's killing me I don't remember why. I'm gonna have to search this now! Gonna bug me all night! Why. Do. I. Think. They. Were. Waitresses? Jeesh it's bugging me...

You might be remembering an attempted kidnapping of a young lady from Greeneville, TN on the strip there in MB in iirc the summer of 2012. They pulled up next to her in a van and tried to pull in, but she was able to fight the guy off.

I do not remember her name, but I was very proud of how tough a home town girl was. I am from Tusculum which more or less Greeneville.

HTH

Thank you Thorn. Idk. Trying to remember.

In the media they say an officer noticed the car there while on patrol and notified HE's dad. Not that it was called in like initially reported.
Maybe both happened? Who knows with spotty reporting.

Now this does ring a bell.

Sorry, I don't mean to hijack Heather's thread. It's just that I wonder if some other disappearances &/or murders could be related.

Maybe the person calling is covering for somebody. Wonder if they've been questioned.

Okay, here's what I found on Charley Project for missing women in South Carolina who disappeared but their cars were found abandoned. Some of them worked at restaurants and some of them left late at night after receiving text messages or phone calls. They aren't all petite and blonde; they aren't even all white.

I need to look at murders now.

http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/l/ludwig_christine.html

2012 -- not a lot of info but her car was found in a parking lot on Garner's Ferry Road in Richland County.

http://www.charleyproject.o rg/cases/s/shelton_evelyn.html
2011 -- Evelyn abruptly left a Bible study in Spartanburg after receiving a text message. Her car was found in the parking lot of William's Grill on Hayne Street.

http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/d/deluca_susan.html
2010 -- Susan DeLuca worked at the Waffle House in Aynor, SC. She was planning to drive to visit friends in Maryland but never arrived. Her car was found in the Little Pee Dee River but she wasn't in it. She may have been seen at a fireworks stand on 501.

2009, disappeared from tourist area

http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/c/calvert_elizabeth.html

2008 Elizabeth and John Calvert, missing from Hilton Head island, car left in a Marriott parking lot

http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/h/hanna_brandy.html

2005 -- Hanna worked at Alex's Restaurant on Dorchester Road in Charleston, was upset about a call she received at work, and disappeared with only her cell phone after apparently leaving her apartment voluntarily late at night.

http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/s/sellars_heather.html
2002 -- Heather worked at a Waffle House in Spartanburg but was probably killed by her boyfriend

http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/m/merchant_paula.html
1999 -- left home to attend a church meeting; her car was found abandoned and burned a few hours later at 2000 Commerce Road, Charleston SC

http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/p/parrott_cathy.html
1992 -- her car was found abandoned after a hit-and-run

http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/b/boyd_sarah.html

1987 Sarah and Kimberley Boyd and Linda McCord, car abandoned in Dorchester county

http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/c/crawford_elizabeth.html

1986 -- Elizabeth Crawford (Jones), went to visit a friend, car found in Fountain Inn Parking lot in Simpsonville

It does happen here they just dismiss this so we can keep the tourism alive industry.

According to the media reports, yes. The car was found by a police officer patrolling the area and he called HE's dad.
I think the car was released to HE's dad but I'm not sure if that's confirmed or rumor.
I don't think the missing report was filed until she didn't show up for work on Friday.

Kind of makes me wonder if she had stayed out overnight before without letting anyone know? Wonder why family would give it that extra day. Usually, parents will try to file a report asap, even if they think they have to wait (which they do not) IMO. Or call police to check for accident reports.

The tristate area would be SC, NC, VA? Would you hazard a guess at a timeframe that would be likely? I can go do some research...

There has been a lot of discussion about missing/murdered women in Virginia on the Jamisha Gilbert and Alexis Murphy threads here on WS. Morgan Harrington's mother has been in the media and has met w/ Alexis Murphy's mom to discuss this also.

Some of the locals (VA) have done a lot of work compiling lists of the missing/murdered VA women.

I posted a link a few days ago about a TN girl who is 17 & missing but is thought to be a runaway with a 20 yr old guy who authorities believe may now be in SC.
