Murders all the time. Not just locals killing locals.

Another thought, Charleston gets cruise ships, does MB?

Not that I am aware of.

I have had my suspicions about the possibility of a human trafficking ring being involved in many of the young girls who have disappeared through out the S.E. but especially the MB missing. The close proximity to intercostal water ways would be a convenient way for those taking the girls to avoid detection from traffic cameras that are everywhere now. Can't get them out via car, fine use a boat.

What is the closest international port to MB? I would guess Charleston has international shipping traffic, but I might be wrong. Please, let me know, if any of you do.

The other reason I suspect a human trafficking ring is the high percentage of these girl that are NEVER found. It would be hard to find a body or bones for a girl that is being held and very much alive in some brothel overseas.

Just throwing that out there. Does anyone else think that this could be a possibility or is it simply to far-fetched?

I agree with you, human trafficking is at the top of my list here. I don't think boats/ports/water is even necessary; we're only about an hour away from the I-95 corridor which runs up and down the east coast.

I would consider human trafficking if she disappeared while coming or going from work, or shopping, etc etc...but the fact that she left her house at 3:00 a.m. makes me think she was specifically going there to meet someone. That road looks rather empty and I would imagine dark at night. Her car looked as it was parked there on purpose, not dumped there. If you were going to meet someone privately, that would be a good place to do it. Someone she met while working at the TK. Someone she was seeing, and felt safe to meet. That's my guess.

No cruise ships here, there are two casino boats in Little River which is about 25 miles north on the North Carolina border.

CGS & Foxfire, thanks for being so awesome. I stopped by this afternoon and dropped off 3 cases of water. I figured people coming back in close to dusk would be thirsty thirsty thirsty.

I am not going to go back through several pages here, but from what I gather... we all feel that there could be a connection to human trafficking. There are those that believe, as I do, that local LE/public officials could be receiving payoffs and/or have "tourism #'s" reasons to brush the non-family elements of MB under the rug.

I have spent thousands of dollars in MB since I moved to Tennessee in 2004, but I can say right now that I will choose a different vacation destination at the beach from here on out. I have my own stories as to why I have long been disabused from MB being a "family destination" . It seems to me that it is past time for the "leaders" of this community to address the problems that they have.

To leave it open, to ignore all the missing girls from MB is ignorant and it makes me wonder about their personal integrity.

I've never heard that until it was posted on the findheatherelvis FB page, I wish Dawn Drexel would hand a few pointers to the family/close friends as to how she was able to get national media coverage. Brittanee Drexel is (sad as it is) a household name.

I had the honor of meeting Dawn Drexel at the search today, she is one amazing woman. And from what I've been told she is giving all the support and help that she can to the Elvis family b

Most of the human trafficking is poor girls being imported into the US for prostitution and domestic labor. And sadly and sickeningly, most of the missing girls we are talking about are far too old for that trade.

SharetheLight, the MS Media follows the internet; pulse of the public.. Two FB Pages on the duck dynasty debacle alone had over 3 million likes in the first 36 hours. Twitter was on fire/viral. Not saying that it is right or wrong, just the way times they are a changin. Social media has a tremendous amount of influence on the news..

The 4 Websleuths threads for Heather Elvis has almost 130,000 views. The MS Media, dateline, etc., also monitors Websleuths and other crime forums..

It is very important to share & like Heather Elvis's Facebook link and any MS Media articles related to her disappearance & search, etc., for maximum awareness. JMHO

"Alone we can do little, but together we can accomplish anything" Quote Helen Keller

This doesn't seem very fair to me. There are many cases that are heavily covered as soon as they occur, and this high media coverage leads to tons of comments on articles, online discussion, "likes" on FB, tweets, etc. Basically, these cases are covered by MSM first, and this spreads to social media. And then you have other cases, where without much coverage, where the parents are suppose to somehow generate thousands of comments about their child's case, thousands of "likes" on FB, trend on Twitter, etc? It's asking a lot for ordinary people. These are not stars of some hugely popular reality show, whose scandals is all over the news.
