Wouldn't you send pics to your best friend to.

I believe her dad said that he had taught her/or had wanted to teach her stick...(someone correct me if I am wrong), thus, the pic would be relevant to her dad...imo...in a daddy/daughter kinda way.. but not so relevant to friends.

She wouldn't have to go out there to do that. She had her own apartment that she could smoke in if she wanted to.

The stick shift she was practicing on was her date's truck. Her car was automatic.

Or maybe she broke up with the married man (maybe even 66 days ago) and he called her. Maybe he knew she was starting to see someone else?

And this was the last call too? Maybe they agreed to meet and this person isn't admitting that they met....

Peach Tree Landing does not have parking lines to park within from what I saw last week. It's basically parking the best way you can if you have a boat trailer & a vehicle. Personally, I don't think she is around the water now.[/QUOTE]

She needs to be found and her parents need closure...praying for a real break soon!!

Absolutely do it. My DD and I got our carry permits a year ago. LE will hardly ever get to you fast enough to help stop an attack on you. If and when you are able to call LE, it will be after an attack is over and too late to help. I bought a Ruger LCP. Small, compact, easy to carry, and by design, almost impossible to accidentally shoot. It's a .380 auto and ammo is available, where 9mm ammo is hard to find.

Women, it's time for you to step up and get your CC and be aware of what is around you at all times. It's your life protect it!

You know, the Daniel Tosh retweet by her is on the same day as her 66 days tweet, Nov. 5th.

That's a kinda telling/freaky thing to retweet, is it not?

Not sure it's okay to link, but surely you guys know where to find it!

snipped by me...

I believe this is very plausible. But I must qualify, we do not know if there was any married man...that's pure speculation. But, I think it is definitely worth considering.

Snipped By Me:

Hi Woe...good catch about 66 days. It could also be 66 days since something happened (which would have been August 30, if I counted right)...i.e. 66 days since I quit smoking...though I tend to agree with you that it is more likely that she was anticipating something in 66 days. Only thing I see right now that is happening on Jan 10 in MB is a Boat and Sportsman's Expo...
http://www.myrtlebeach.com/myrtle-beach-events/show/grand-strand-boat-sportsman-expo/
hmmmm...I'll keep looking...

I came up with Labor Day weekend. Lots of things could have happened -- breakup, met someone, job lead...

I have a question about the makeup job she was supposed to be starting. Did that require her to be licensed as a cosmetologist? Had she taken the training etc.?

The worst of all questions to ask...any I am sorry to do so, but when is garbage pick up around her apartment or around PTL? Also, have there been any landfill searches?
Seems to me...we would have heard something about that...LEO surely know that is a place to look during these awful cases. If they are not/have not searched there...then IMO...that is telling in and of itself. It gives me the impression that LE knows a lot more then they are telling us.

Don't know for sure if that has been done. If not, the dogs could be very helpful in that type of search. Seen it done before.

'Cell phones "ping" towers every 7-10 seconds..." I know I've asked the question about cell phones and is there an electronic protocol where the phone would send out a ping even if a text or call is not involved or the user is not moving (i.e., driving). I tried searching the internet and all I could find involved a 'hand off' or 'hand over' when moving from one tower coverage to another. So is this true for all cell phones? If so, that would account for how they know the phone was turned off or the battery ran down.

I thought the 3:41 AM time regarding HE's phone was provided on NG show. Terry Elvis said he determined it from the 'phone log'. I believe he stated that HE was on his plan. I am assuming he means the bill. If cell phones ping that often they would not show up on a bill. I know my texts do not show individually, by time, on my bill. (That would be a LARGE bill for some folks.) So 3:41 AM would be either an outgoing or incoming phone call?
It depends on the carrier or type of log, I would have to assume. While not on our bill, we can still get a list of every text that has been sent or received and the number to whom it has been sent or received. So for our family's phones, it could have been a text or call on a phone log. It could be the same or different for the Elvis family.

When I was learning to drive my mom always took me to big open parking areas. In the winter it was the beach parking lot.

What was her reason for learning to drive stick. If her date went so well its reasonable to think she might go back out to do it again.

with who? Her date dropped her off and took the automobile with the stick shift home. (his truck).

  • #572
I don't necessarily agree with the comments about the date having had to have known HE very long to let her drive his truck.

I was once a young boy & a promise from an attractive girl in didn't know could have easily rattled me off my game.

Also, I think the stick shift text was an (inside joke) so to speak with her father who had tried to teach her, no real reason to text that to anyone else. Kinda more of a "look what I can do"

It sounds like the car was parked longways along the edge of the parking lot, rather than being pulled in straight and facing the water (hope that makes sense). A poster upthread also said that there aren't really marked parking spaces there, that you just kind of park wherever you like. It does sound kind of odd to me that she would have parked the car the way her father described it, but maybe with it being that late at night she didn't expect many other people to come into the landing?

Maybe she parked that way so that she could leave quickly if she needed to. Just pull up and out, rather than have to back up.

I was wondering why HE wanted to learn how to drive stick. Someone already answered it though.

Just an fyi...or food for thought, maybe.

Her twitter profile quote

all scarlett begonias and a touch of the blues

Those are lyrics to a Grateful Dead song "Scarlett Begonias"

Here is a link to the lyrics

http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/gratefuldead/scarletbegonias.html

They are a touch different then she wrote them, but I am pretty certain thats the song she is referencing.

And a weird fact too, the Dead also sing a song called "Catfish John" ...which made me think of the weird FB poster guy. Hmmm. Over thinking?

Anyway...I used to be a deadhead waaaaaayyyyy back in the day. so, I know those songs.

Guess its a sublime song with the same name.

It is a little nasty, especially after people partying, throwing out trash when they come off the river unfortunately. Dumping fish they don't want to keep, emptying bait buckets, etc.

When I was there last week, my wife pointed out a condom and the wrapper laying side-by-side. And this was after LE spent a better part of the week there. :/

I personally probably would. BUT, a lot of my friends are as into cars as I am. We don't know that Heather's best friend was all that interested in cars.

I double checked-our bill even shows data usages & what times they were used. That's AT&T though....

this is maybe only my second or 3rd post here, i prefer to be a quiet lurker, hehe. but the lyrics she quoted on her twitter are actually from the Sublime song of the same name, Scarlet Begonias, which is their version of the Grateful Dead song. :seeya:
