I will delete this. Never said it was true.

Sorry!! I wasn't trying to be rude but now that I read it I realize how it sounds. I just wanted to let you know my experience with her on other cases. It was really bad with Caylee Anthony and Haleigh Cummings, so bad I quit watching her. She was often days behind this forum on announcing new information and, even when she finally got to it, she would have facts totally wrong. I don't think it's her fault but I think she relies too heavily on assistants to do her research for her. Let's face it...we're usually much more invested in cases on this site then 99% of the public so you can't fault them for not being as knowledgeable as we are.

I think in the eyes of the general public, there is most definitely a POI/suspect in this case.

I am confused that LE has not named one...

Well, they do not have to. And maybe they are "stuck" i.e. if someone has provided him with an alibi.

I saw a show last night where a killer's fake alibi held up for almost twenty years...but DNA came along, luckily.

Tonight on WMBF News, Brennan Somers reported that "the Cue Center will be back in Horry County tomorrow to scout out new areas to look for the 20 year old. That, they have mainly focused on searches in Myrtle Beach and Conway."

Conway???

That's the first time I've ever heard about searches in Conway.

I do not know how many times new people will come to a thread and think what they heard on NG must be true, when we here have known for ages it is wrong. She just goes too fast, bounces from case to case, etc.

Just saying, she is good for what she is good for (exposure) but not for hard facts, IMO.

I know it is not a reliable source, but thought I had to use a link because I was "quoting" someone. In the article there was a quote, which I was using. Does that not need to be done here?

It's fine. We don't allow all examiner articles. It depends on the author and content. This article is fine.

If there would have been a problem, we would have deleted the link and let you know.

No worries, here :)

So confused. I thought some CUE members posted here yesterday that they did not have any searching planned for this weekend.

well we arent supposed to discuss scanner threads but the horry county scanners are all offline and have been for about 10 minutes or so.....idk I find that kind of odd...

I think once CUE comes back CUE is going to search for a good place to search, that's how I understand it. CUE says their search is next weekend.

Nancy Grace is fine link to and discuss, she's as good as any of the rest of the media. They all get things wrong as we all know, lol.

  • #911
So tomorrow CUE will just be looking for places to search? As in, on maps, etc.?
If so, then I doubt anything huge is happening now.

An answer to prayer would be that someone has Heather to keep her safe from a psycho and that she will come back safe to us. I pray that is a possibility.

Totally agree this has been a very poorly handled investigation. However, one thing does come to mind insofar as a last "verified" call. Hypothetically, if a burn phone or public phone placed a call to HE's number LE would need time to verify who placed that call. Depending on resources at hand they might not be able to provide proof i.e.; a group phone in a dorm or business, a burn phone or a pay phone. That can take time and if there are no surveillance tapes or fingerprints for proof they might never be certain.

Most recent scanner page link - http://websleuths.com/forums/showthread.php?t=229853&page=12 (I have not been following it today, it just seemed like a good time to re-post it. I've no idea what's going on, or isn't, right now.)

Is it possible to put this link on the first page of each thread that starts? Having links on that first page is handy.
If attaching this particular one is a no-no, then just ignore that idea.

I doubt they would hide her from her parents, if they cared enough to hide her. JMO
Her dad is barely holding on.

Is the quote available elsewhere, I wonder, besides on examiner?

The article was a summarization of the show with quotes, so yes, if you listenedto the interview.

No, they don't have to name one...and I am not really sure that there is a benefit to naming one? (Think Michelle Parker case). What is the ultimate goal in naming a POI or suspect in a case anyway? (That is a real question, does it often benefit a case somehow?)

I just selfishly want them to name one...so we can discuss. :blushing:

On the show...was the fake alibi premeditated or conjured after the fact by willing participants?

It is okay. I posted what I did and have several replies at once. I wasn't trying to say that she knew, but the parents worked with her. I would think they would want the truth communicated.
