....so, I'm just thinking out loud here (always a bad thing) after playing "Search/Find" with my hunting dogs earlier that have a fantastic "nose" when it comes to finding an object.

What if scent dogs are brought to an area for search purposes but the dogs breach a property line due to a scent they are picking up? Probably the searchers (humans) wouldn't breach a line but what if it was hard to retrieve the dogs back from the "hit"???

Lots of things popping into my mind right now......ugh!

FHEFB has turned into a 3 ring circus. Yesterday they said LE was at PTL. Today they've got all kinds of crazy stuff posted. Warrants for people who they then claim are driving around taking pics of searchers. And by "they" I mean just random people posting and not an admin or HE's parents. I'm just saying...stay the course and don't get too caught up in the side show unfolding over there. Tons of rumors and no facts.

I'm going to step away to get ready to go out for dinner. While the stuff on FHFB seems pretty wacky right now, fact is sometimes stranger than fiction. For the sake of the Elvis Family, I hope they're able to bring Heather home very soon & the person(s) responsible never again see the light of day.

I hope the folks on Fb really do not expect the searchers to find her safe...:(
I mean, that is not even possible, IMO, unless they are allowed to search private homes and she is being "held". Not likely IMO.
But ground searchers, at five weeks, are not going to come back with Heather, safe and sound...

Lol I give up. If I happen to stumble upon a new post, yay for me.

evidence? evidence is a body...you have to prove a crime took place first and foremost before you have a POI. LE is putting their ducks in order, interviewing people (statements that will either support or contradict a POI), physical evidence must be collected and analyzed....and having proof a crime took place.. witness to the crime either directly or indirectly and having a body helps.?

Not always. There have been convictions in murder trials without the victim's body.
Examples of several cases in the article below.

http://www.foxnews.com/story/2008/10/15/notable-murder-convictions-without-body/

One of the cases always on my mind is Kelli Bordeaux, a soldier assigned to Fort Bragg, NC. Her body hasn't been found despite intense search efforts of the surrounding area after she disappeared. She was declared deceased one year after she disappeared (by the Army).
Two people were arrested after her disappearance on unrelated charges. One of them being a prime suspect. He was released after he served his time on the unrelated charge. I agree, that with or without a body, there has to be specific incriminating evidence pointing directly to the perp before they are arrested and charged with murder. Sketchy reputation, priors, and coincidental circumstances aren't enough to draw a conclusion beyond a reasonable doubt. When it's easy to paint several different scenarios, based on the circumstances of the victim's life, the plot thickens.

As I remember ATasteOfHoney posting before, things aren't always what they seem.

It can be linked because it is on the FHE page. It cannot be discussed. That's the difference.

It is info that sleuths can keep under their hat, so to speak, for when MSM or LE open the door to the info.

Does that make sense?

LOCKED FOR CLEAN UP.

Facebook posts cannot be discussed and neither can facebook posters.

I just removed 23 posts. That's a lot in the hour or so that I was away and doesn't include the posts that Imamaze and Bessie has been removing all along.

I could TO everybody and that is what we have been doing, but honestly, we would rather try to help you understand the rules and post accordingly.

So.... everybody go back to page one and read all the rule posts that are there. They are first 5 or 6 posts in this thread. I'll give you all 10-15 minutes to read them. If you have any questions, pm either Imamaze or myself.

We are going to open back up, but the rules are changing for this CASE.

We are no longer going to allow any discussion of the FHE Facebook. We are taking it out of the line up, guys. If there is new information regarding SEARCHES only, alert a mod and we will find a way to make that info only, available here.

There is much work that could be done in this case, but it gets lost in all the facebook discussion. We need to get back on track and do what we do best and let the facebook situation work itself out.

Salem, im curious, if you we're to open a thread in the parking lot, would it be an area to discuss FB? I saw that asked, and as one who frequents the mcstay threads I was curious as to what the rules are down there.

ETA, how the rules differ compared to here...

I guess we're pretty much without words now. I'm not going to risk a real TO, so I'm going to just observe, as I have been for most of the day.
