What are everyone's thoughts about LE finding the vehicle and having Heathers father drive it back to his house?

I read that he wore gloves when he drove it. This is so sad because he knew something was up.

My questions are:

Is this common for LE to hand over a vehicle to someone when they should tow it away because it could be part of a missing person’s case?

Will this interfere with needed evidence from the vehicle?

Just wondering...

Per my LE family, that should never. Ever. Ever. Occur. It would most certainly interfere with evidence.... LE knows this. The whole car being found, notification, and how it was handled was not done by the book and any and all evidence will never be used in court. I am perplexed by this and this was not by someone who was ill informed.

I was just thinking this. Would a perp use his/her victim's phone to call someone (an accomplice?) back & forth, to try to produce a cell phone trail that makes it appear the victim was still alive & using her phone at a particular time?

I would think it would be difficult to keep that going for any amount of time, particularly if the victim's location appeared to be coming from the perpetrator's living room.

Good Point! Possible that a "woman" had HE cell phone and called a "man" to "catch" him if this woman suspected cheating but also the calls made to her phone would have placed focus on this person which may have been done on purpose or to cover up something...

this is getting more and more complex..are we dealing with master criminals here? very good points

I have a VERY important question about definitions: If 37 is considered "old man" how many here are "ancient" or "decrepit" or "one foot in the grave" if they are - YIKES - over 50?!?!?

Do we need to have EMS on standby just in case one of us posters expires mid-sentence?

ok, funniest part? I came up with "OM" & I'm 37!!! ha :)

Perhaps at that time, HE was not yet considered a missing person.

He said in his interviews as soon as he was notified about the car he knew in his gut something was wrong and began to call her with her phone going to voicemail.

Regardless from a LE and anyone for that matter standpoint...the car should be impounded for evidence.

it's possible... if one person was with heather, and uses her phone to call his/her phone, located at his/her home...

Just Google "Heather Elvis Tumblr". That's what I did. It's really strange. I don't get it, but then again, I'm "on my last leg".

True but maybe a spouse's DNA could not be...or other items. They can still process a car after the fact. I have seen cases where it was done years later, LE tracking down vehicles with new owners and still finding evidence and making use of it. (Cold Case Files, lol)

It could be, but since people could plant evidence (not saying they would), any good lawyer could get it removed and with the way things have gone, if something was found here, I don't think it would stand.

my water & power bills show overall usage, nothing broken down more than that. hubby worked for water dept for years, he said you can't narrow it down like that.

I don't know about water, but up here our power company installed 'smart meters' and they know what appliance you are running and when.

But Le uses bits of evidence as pressure even if they do not plan to use it in court.

Haha! It started out to mean Old-er Man and somehow got shortened. I agree with you, btw!!

Don't forget OMM, Old Married Man. Yeah he's way younger than me but too old for her, IMO. I guess I'm biased. Some pretty young thing stole, literally, all my father's money.

Just a quick question / statement: Does anyone here get so frustrated w/ a case that they are following, that they have to distance themselves from it for a while? I don't know, maybe it's just me...but I have noticed over the last two days that I have become extremely frustrated w/ this case - or maybe it's confusion..idk. Just when I think the case is going somewhere or that they are going to find her, it seems to stall and I'm left with all these mixed emotions.

I can't even imagine what the family is feeling but my heart aches for them. I KNOW if it was my child I would have lost it by now!!!!

Also, for some reason I keep getting this weird vibe that there could be another person involved in HE disappearance that is being overlooked b/c so many are focusing on other "older" known "acquaintances" of hers. That's just My Opinion of course...but there is one particular post from the very beginning by a VI that has stood out to me and I'm trying to figure out where this person the VI mentioned ties into all of this.

I've taken notes, made reference of timelines, looked at maps, read social media, etc etc etc....and I can't tell Fact from Fiction anymore at this point. Uggghh sorry for my rant...I just want for HE to be found....

Is the VI post still here?

When I saw "Old Man" for the 37-year-old, this 37-year-old Jersey Girl grabbed her emergency defibrillator a little closer to her and slyly tried to give him a new, more fitting moniker in my next post, i.e., "Does anyone know if the Infant Married Guy has been named as a suspect?" For some reason it didn't catch on in the room and now I'm back to my prune juice and AARP magazine.

This is my first time here...and I just spent all this time signing up so I could thank you for this post. I too had spent a LOT of time noting things that I thought might need to be passed on in this case, after becoming so emotionally invested because I have a daughter this age who is living away from home for the first time as a college freshman. I've been so very frustrated with some of what I've been seeing the last several days. And with so many insiders obviously convinced of one theory that they're willing to leak rumors, etc and lead the rest of us to believe that this thing is all but solved...I've wondered if I'm the only person who just stopped bothering to waste time examining any other possibility. Glad to hear someone else feels the same way. Sure seems like there are an awful lot of people taking advantage of this family's desperation in an attempt to get attention or seem important. It's disgusting if true...
