There will be a prayer vigil at 7 tonight.

Well if he doesn't come forward after that circulates that will be very telling, imo

little H must be so scared
somebody do the right thing and drop her at a safe place

It's just so shocking to me to think of someone breaking in someone's home, attacking the mother and kidnapping a child. Normally I dismiss a lot of potential risks as being over blown. We're always told it's friends and family who take children more than strangers and we seldom need to worry about strangers. But someone tried to kidnap a child around this age, in public, just down the road from me. Right in a busy store in front of the parent. I'm now feeling pretty paranoid about my own 3 yo. I do keep a very close eye on my children. But it's all but impossible to hold a child's hand the whole time while paying a bill at a cash register. :/ And you can only fit so many children in a cart.

But to have someone break into your home?

Oh, those poor poor parents. I don't know how I'd survive with one of my children missing.

Well, if he is undocumented, or has any kind of warrant out, I can think of reasons that people don't come forward, especially if they truly aren't involved and don't think they know anything. In this instance though, with those facial tattoos, people around him have to know him and I find it unlikely that everyone who knows him would also agree to protect him. Good thing they have the tipline - I would be surprised if it takes a long time to ID this POI.

Just a FYI... don't go googling for flames facial tattoos if you don't want nightmares. :gaah:

bbm Plus, some on sm are already making assumptions that he's the attacker, which he probably isn't because the two descriptions differ. He might run/hide rather than coming forward.

Those are good points I hadn't thought of. But he won't be able to show his face in public around here. Even if those who know him agree not to come forward, if anyone in this area see him he'll be turned in.

They did stress he's just a POI so it could be that he may have just witnessed something.

I know, it is so very scary. So close to home (both literally and figuratively). I have three very young kids, and while I’m one of the most vigilant and appropriately paranoid people I know, three kids is a lot going on. Any kid is a lot going on! I live the scenarios discussed here today (arriving home with little kids and groceries, getting everyone and everything out of the car and safely inside) on a daily basis. Make me scared. Makes me check myself and realize where I need to do better and not drop the ball, always be on alert. But gosh, I’m just one person, ya know?! Just like H’s mom:(

According to this tweet from Post Courier reporter he's been seen in the woods behind the Johns Island home police chief said.

I just did the same but I didn't find much that was useful or any photos of a flame on someone's face (I know it was wishful thinking that the POI has his photo on a local tattoo parlor's website!). I did see an interesting article interviewing a tattoo artist that said he usually refuses facial tattoos unless it is a client who is already fully tattoo'ed everywhere else on their body. It was interesting, but not particularly helpful in terms of ID'ing the POI:

If he is indeed hispanic and an illegal it is unlikely he will come forward.

The woods. Great.

I already did. :panic:He appears to have a lightning bolt on the other side of his face. I was trying to figure out if these are common gang symbols of some sort but not sure I want to go down that rabbit hole...

I did also find out this tidbit although no idea if it is enforced:

Relevant Info:
It is also illegal in South Carolina to tattoo the face, head, or neck.

I wonder how this whole situation went down. Did the guy follow her home? Was he waiting inside the home while she was gone (terrifying)? Was he hiding somewhere outside and came upon her in the garage? Sounds like maybe a specifically targeted victim or house.
