GUILTY SC - HT, 4, Johns Island, 13 Feb 2018 *Arrest*

  • #661
I am so glad the Solicitor made it crystal clear that H and her family had no connection to this creep. I never got any feelings this man was connected to this family in any way.

But it is very frightening to know it was a random target because that means it could happen to anyone. We are seeing more and more strangers targeting victims they did not know. :(

I am just so happy that H was found alive. I hope her mom continues to recover so she can fully enjoy being with H again.

JMO
Ill be interested to find out how he "randomly" found his way to Johns Island. First, its an island. Second, its not on the way to anywhere. Its an end point. It will be interesting to hear.

Amazing how some people are "clever" and "resourceful" enough to have the ability to locate & size up victims, attain a knife, brutally attack a woman with small children, take one kid, ditch a car, steal another car and cross state lines and run from police in the process, all the while toting a toddler with them, yet a trip to the local health department or human services is too difficult.

Could not have summed it up better. Sigh.....

Excuses, excuses....well stated.

I also find that curious; there's no reason to just be 'passing through' John's Island. I've lived here for almost a decade and have never set foot out there because there's just no reason. I mean, Daniel/Sullivan's/MtP/IoP/etc are also not on the way through/out of town but you can see how someone might end up there. Not Johns.

The address listed on the arrest report only seems to be about 17 min from the T neighborhood and less than 15 from the elementary school the home is zoned for. If she ran errands near the school I wonder if he could have followed her from there. I don’t know the area but that is what it appears when putting in the 3 locations in google maps. I also noticed that the gentleman who led prayer at the vigil was from Seacoast Church. There is a location that is only 3 min from the address listed under TLE arrest in Mississippi. Could he have followed her from there or first seen the family in that area?

Does anyone know what the tattoo on his upper chest says?
It would only be a guess, but the second word does look like white. So possibly "lethal white" "Proud White"... or other similar terms which may hint towards a white supremacy gang. JMO though.

Just a thought but here's what I, ( the Queen of Paranoia ) am prepared to do if that happens to me when I am home alone.

On my cell phone clock timer, there are many sound options from which to choose when the timer is up. I have selected 'bark' which is the sound of a ( loud ) real dog, barking. The 'bark' keeps repeating until I silence it.

Since I never open the door to a stranger when I'm home alone, I have the timer pre-set and paused at 10 seconds. If there is a knock on the door I am ready to set off the sound of my 'barking dog' from inside the closed door.

I've tested it too, while standing outside my closed door, and I can hear my 'barking dog' very clearly!

Since I don't have a dog, I'm hoping the barking would make an intruder think twice before breaking in...

As I said, I'm just a bit paranoid...

I love this. I'd also love to have one with a genuine gun shot sound going off to go with the barking dog.

You have trumped my paranoia preparations!!! I shall find this barking dog immediately! I need one, too! :)

Why do you use the word "clever"? None of that stuff you listed necessitates intelligence. And for someone with mental problems, a lot of things you think are easy, are actually difficult.

.

Are we? As far as I know, stranger violence in the U.S. has been decreasing for many, many years now.

I believe he may have just been overwhelmed with the real world and wanted to go back to prison, he then made the decision to commit a crime.

Just wondering if you have a source link for this. I'd like to read that research.

Has there been any word on the mother's condition?

That was my first thought when they said he had just gotten out of prison. He may be institutionalized and can't deal with freedom, so he did enough to ensure he would spend the rest of his life behind bars.
