"Sheriff Wright said James Douglas Drayton was arrested Monday in Burke County, Georgia and confessed to the murders... Sheriff Wright said Drayton was living at the house, where several of the residents were doing drugs."

He robbed a store in GA and had a chase with cops there. It all sounds meth fueled.
Yup. According to the article on FoxCarolina, he told the police he had been doing meth and hadn't slept in four days.

No... just a place where they feel safe. Not too many cops or they don't check out around the area too much.

Meth kills in so many ways. Ruined a couple of my good friends. RIP

no matter what they were doing or had done, no one should ever have to die like this IMO. I'm sure there are people who cared about these people - sad for them... always sad for those who live on, knowing what happened...

All IMO

The effects on the mind are crazy. I see how something like this happens. It makes sense at the time in their heads but it really doesn't.
For example: My friend had over $10,000 stashed in his house... but would go out and get arrested shoplifting fishing reels. Go to jail, call me to go to his house and get money, and bail him out. Are you kidding me? How can you make sense of that?

I agree and I’m just lost on how this man was able to kill 5 people like that with nobody getting away.

if it was actually an opium den type of place, there's the very real possibility that they were all zonked out on their downers and hallucinogens of choice, and basically unable to fight back :(

wspa is reporting that this mans bond was denied in GA and he is awaiting a higher court hearing. I don’t know how this works out with which state does what and when.
