Especially the person he was in jail for assaulting. Per OP, that person has been notified.

"We received information that Wideman was in Laurens County," Long stated. "Laurens County Deputies spotted inmate Wideman in an older model blue Ford Taurus. When Laurens County deputies attempted to stop the vehicle, the vehicle attempted to flee and subsequently wrecked which resulted in Inmate Wideman being taken into custody by Laurens County Deputies."

[.....]

On his walk back into jail on Wednesday night, Wideman spoke to reporters saying he loved his girlfriend, his mother and his children. When asked why he fled the prison, he said it was because of paranoia and mental health problems.

"I'm gonna try to do better for the future," Wideman said.

The vehicle he was located in was reportedly stolen. His 19-year-old passenger was also arrested.
