This photo, underneath his right t shirt sleeve, could that be the faint tattoo in the Grateful Doe photos on Namus?

Not sure if my eyes are just wanting to see that but I totally do!

I have a question. Does Jason's profile saying DNA tests are completed necessarily mean it'd been compared to Grateful Doe, or is that going to be a separate process in and of itself?

It's a separate process; I have no clue what's taking so long. Have never seen a comparison take this long. I looked at GDF's profile the other day to see if Jason was listed as ruled out. Wonder if the ME is on vacation. He would get the test results to make the call.

Cases I've had my hands in like Helen's; we had the comparison to FLEK when DNA was complete

If it is him and they already know it, maybe the hold up might be waiting to announce it next week on the 20th anniversary of the accident.

I knew I was missing something! The 20th anniversary of GDF's death is the 26th. I bet this is what they're gonna do! Makes perfect sense now. I feel Jason's mom already knows & that the ME will have a presser to announce at the 20 year anniversary! Been so busy; I knew I was missing something that was right in front of my face!

Alright guys, this is the latest update from the Medical Examiner. The tests complete only means the dna is now in Namus so the dna has not yet been tested against Grateful Doe. This next test can take anywhere from a couple weeks to a month. I know it really sucks that we been waiting this long but we now know it can't be too much longer. They have also taken Jason Callahan's sister's dna to also test so they now have dna from both parents. Everyone please keep their family in your thoughts as this is much harder on them. -LESHA

I do not have GDF's DNA info, so I do not know where it is stored. From memory, I believe UNT had it. I know Lesha called the ME, but from my experience with Helen Green being compared to FLEK as well as Tammy Jo Alexander being compared to Cali; we had the rule in/out with the processed. Tammy's DNA also showed complete when it was done, the ME had the results & wanted one more test done for 100% accuracy because Pam & Tammy have different fathers. That test took one week.

I was sure the ME was going to call it today! </3

BTW, anyone wondering what's taking so long, UNT has a backup. What used to take 2 months now takes 5 & 6 months for processing

& I will be surprised if Jason Callahan is not "Jason" Grateful Dead Fan; especially since Jason liked wearing shirts similar to the one our Doe was wearing.

In one of the other threads by greymetal, someone said that he had a backpack & wallet at the NY show. I think what happened is he got ripped off between the last concert in NY & the DC one; was on his way home since he had no ID or anything else.

This was talked about in another thread I believe. They said (not sure how true) that it means the DNA is entered into the system and still could take a few weeks to a month to come back. Ugh!

I have not seen this happen before; usually when tests show complete, they do the comparison at the same time. If there is a match; the ME gets a letter to make the call. I'm clueless what's taking so long; was sure the ME was going to call it on the anniversary.

You would think the ME could look at Jason's photo & know yes or no

I assumed the same. But it's been 2 weeks and still no word, so I guess we still have to wait! Blah

What if Jason's family have decided for some reason not to tell the public?! Will the results come out anyway, via the police/coroner?

I think even if the public isn't notified, we will be able to put the pieces together if both of their profiles are taken offline in the same timeframe.

I certainly hope they would inform the public, as many people have invested many hours into identifying Grateful Doe. But I understand if they want to keep it private as well.

I was thinking along the lines of more family needing to be notified other than mom. Maybe there are a number of people and not all have been contacted as of yet.

Or, maybe the decision was made to wait until after the final concert tour in Chicago is over.

Whatever it is, my prayers have been with Jason C's mom especially as the wait continues.
