"Police say they charged a 64-year-old woman with the death of her grandson in a hot car after discovering inconsistencies in her story that she collapsed from a medical issue."

She was denied bond.

The boy was left in the car for at least 4hrs. I'm curious to know what medical issue she claimed to have had.

Denied bond and four hours in the car...drug use maybe???

I am curious to know what the medical condition is said to be. It may be real. IDK

This is sad; Every summer we have to read these tragedies

Or maybe even a side effect of prescribed medication. Or maybe she forgot about him.
I watched the bond hearing and she was clearly very distraught.
Whatever happened, and I don't think it was intentional, she will have to live with the fact that her grandson died in one of the worst, most painful ways possible while in her care.

I have seen many cases like this. I rarely get a feel for the person who left the child in the heat, but I dont think this was intentional. I could be wrong. It is heartbreaking either way, but more so if it was truly an accident.Imagine the devastation and guilt. She is not super old, but I wonder about her meds or health.

WCSC : Bond denied for grandmother charged with homicide by child abuse after baby's hot car death
According to Joe's mother, Krista Nix, he was spending the night at his grandmother's house and she was taking him to McDonald's to get a Happy Meal. When Joe was carried out to the car, Nix said his grandmother realized she left her keys inside and went back to the house but suffered from a medical issue and collapsed.

When she came to, Nix said his grandmother found Joe breathing heavily in the car and called 911. Joe was pronounced dead on scene at 5 p.m.
Janik Nix was denied bond and will have to appear before a circuit judge.
