Perhaps a storm will work in our favor! It could force Johnny inside for shelter. Maybe someone will recognize him.
Keep up the good work!! I think he can be found!!!

I agree!

I spoke with family last night and will (likely) talk to law enforcement today.

Are there ANY web sleuthers in that area that can get some fliers up ???
They need to be posted every where they possibly can be. The family is not in SC right now and they need help getting his photo out there.

I live in Cartersville, Ga. and just stumbled across Johnny's case. I'll be glad to do what I can. I have some disabilities, but if I know the contact info for his family I will get in touch with them and do what I can.

Yes,his sister did contact them and they want to "put some feet on the ground" ,but the last I heard around noon was that they needed to decide on a starting point. I'm just catching up after getting back from Myrtle Beach/ Surfside .
I met with two MB officers to pick up flyers and they were very kind and appreciative.
I'm really hoping for some guidance by professional searchers so we don't have a hodge podge of volunteers . We need some co-ordination.
We need a designated leader(s) to be a point person with LE and the family. We also need a location that can be "headquarters" so to speak ,so we aren't asking the police for flyers ,etc.. several times a day as volunteers come forward .
Most of all we need PUBLICITY ! Most of the people in that area are vacationers. Billboards would be a help as well as TV media .
I'm open to doing whatever, but I'm not a leader and have no experience in searching for anyone beyond my own "Johnny".

If someone can give me the contact info for the family here in Cartersville, I'll try to help them get in touch with whoever (professional serchers, etc). Maybe I can help that way. I have no experience in serching for someone what so ever, so will need some guidance from those of you who know what to do. What is his family's name here in Ga?

I just posted this on Facebook, with info from the flyer. I'll keep an eye open for responses.
I'll try to contact the family tomorrow to see if they have any news, and what I can do here to help. Any ideas, let me know.

I talk to Johnny's sister frequently . I know they would love to have your support.

Brianna Smith did another story on Johnny tonight and did a great job describing more details about the phrases he uses and what to do if you see Johnny.

I get this so well .
When my son wants to go swimming he will take off his shirt ,look at me questioningly and say "you're welcome" .I know that means he wants to swim. When Johnny says he wants McDonalds the family knows it means he wants to go home.
Who knows why they make these associations ,but it makes communicating with them very difficult unless you know them well.
So glad Brianna included it with the story.

suggestions of what to look for if there is going to be a reporter talking about it on the news. He could find a way to sleep via a dog house, playground equipment, all night place like deny's, if he hitched hiked someone might have dropped him off at a rest stop, traveling people wouldn't bother to call the cops if they couldn't understand him. They would just get in their car and go.

Is there a search party going on? Has the family returned to that hotel and stand outside for the day, in hopes he is hiding somewhere? Suppose he met up with someone not so nice, they didn't hurt him but now he is scared, he would be in hiding. He has to drink water, parks around with fountain's, pools, water hose in someone's back yard.

Have home owners be on the look out for anyone in their neighborhood that doesn't live there. Would he go to a Church?

He could have made it back to the hotel but is hiding....hotel's offer free breakfast, did he know this? 7-11's are open 24/7 he might venture there to find food or drink.

one can only hope he helps himself to some food/snacks some where because he is hungry, and gets caught and the police get called and they KNOW who he is now

I was just thinking the same thing. I hope ALL of the police departments and even the security guards know about him. Because he has to be hungry and thirsty. I hope he is loitering in front of a 7/11 or somewhere. But that will only work if LE knows to look out for him.

Hope Texas Equusearch gets the go ahead from Myrtle Beach Police today and Johnny is found by nightfall.

I have called the 3 major new channels in Atlanta, 50 mi from here, about running Johnny's story. I also spoke with his sister and offered my help. she wants everyone to know if they see Johnny, he may be afraid of strangers, so it may help to tell him his mom, "Ruby Pop" and his dog "Blackie" is looking for him. I spoke to her also about putting out flyers around her, is case he has worked his way back this far.
I am running out the door now to get to a dr's appt, will check back ltr. Thx

Could additional flyers be made to reflect his leeriness of strangers and reference to Ruby Pop & Blackie be added? In case someone sees him and doesn't want to startle him into taking off?

I have tomorrow off from school, I thought I'd head over to the beach and check out the shelters. I'll also print up a bunch of flyers and hang them/hand them out. Sound ok?

It would be great if McDonalds and Waffle House restaurants need plenty of flyers. If Johnny says "McDonalds" or "Waffle House" to someone who hasn't heard about him, yet, they may think that's where he wants to go and drop him off there! I wish I was close enough to help.
