I just read all this, and OMG, poor Johnny and his family.

Does his family have FB page for him? Is there anyone local that can contact chamber of commerce and businesses and try to get a room for his mom? So she can be there. And maybe contact restaurants and stores for donations./gift cards? Set up a paypal for donations? If this has been done, sorry I missed it.

Will keep Johnny and his family in my thoughts and prayers.

We have this one store where this homeless guy hangs out all day, I pulled up with the flyer (how do you spell that, flier or flyer? lol) and asked him if he'd seen the guy, he said "no but leave the picture cuz I might." :)

His chances may be better than others .Wouldn't that be nice ? Might change two lives at once.

I just got off the phone with Johnny's sister Julie, here in Cartersville. She said someone with Texax Equasearch called her and LE called them , Tex. E, to come to MB. They are hoping to be there this WE or early next wk, she wasn't sure. Sorry MissJames if you have this posted already. She said she and some of the family are going next week, but she can't leave her work till next Fri. I have offered to go with them, and drive her mother, RubyPop in the car instead of her having to ride in their van. Still praying Johnny will be found safely b4 then. Julie has such strong faith that God will protect Johnny until he is found. After talking to Julie last night, we discovered she had taken care of my mother about 4 yrs ago when we needed home health care for her. God certainly does work in mysterious ways sometimes.

I am so glad that you are getting these flyers to the homeless and to those who work with them. I really feel like if anyone was helping Johnny, it would be in an encampment. Most other people would probably think he was drunk or high and not give him any attention if they saw him loitering outside a 7/11/

But in my heart I think a homeless camp would take the time to understand that he needed help.

I remember reading that Johnny can get scared when people approach him too quickly. It might be helpful to find out if he responds differently to children. I'm a little concerned about him running if he's approached since he must be very scared already. If he likes children, he may respond better to someone with a child.

Thanks to everyone for working so hard to find Johnny. I hope someone spots him soon and I hope the LE remembers that he's afraid of the police and send someone in plain clothes.

I have to sign off for now. Hubby and I are on vacation and he's going to kill me if I don't get off this phone.

So so true! Here the police and agencies like the be my husband works for have created a binder for any kids/adults with spec. Needs who want or whose family want them to be in it.

It has a photo, height weight etc, as well as triggers, what they are likely to respond to and where they tend to 'gravitte'. When they go missing it gives police a head start for sure.

If it was my family member in this case, I surely would have taken the rest of the family home, then gone back and slept in the car by the hotel if need be. Knowing he might turn back up. MOO

PS: My comment is not to bash the family for I know they were probably in a panic and not thinking. H.S. 20/20

I don't believe in coincidences .It was meant to be. Gives me chills the way things work out sometimes.
Such good that TES will be involved .
You are a blessing ,Nonni Brenda.

They stayed as long as they could afford to with no help. There are family health issues, etc. and of course jobs .
Those of us on WS have more knowledge about SAR groups ,internet sites,etc... but not everyone knows that sometimes you have to go beyond LE to get help.
The family tracked down more sightings of Johnny ,including one on video surveillence at a store(family viewed it .Johnny was trying to use the phone
:( poor guy ),
and waiteress who saw him walk away with a man. Those would have been opportunities to bring in SAR tracking dogs, but LE didn't and the family was relying on them to do the follow up.

They are doing the best they can.

Once they found out about TES they made contact ,but LE has to be on board and they put TES off .

Johnny's sister finally got them to agree to TES yesterday and that's where we stand.

If I, personally, had heard about this on the 4th or 5th I would have become involved sooner .So would everyone here who has been so helpful and concerened. That's when Johnny was being seen and the best opportunity to find him.
BUT we are where we are and this is what we have to work with.

LET'S ROLL

I wish you were on VACAY in MB .

That's why the family passed along the names Rubypop,Rev,Blackie(his dog) Cartersville and Julie.

Its not good that he's been alone and lost for so long. I have a special needs daughter the same age and if she got lost she would be telling everyone and saying she couldn't find her family. Once she wandered off and got lost in a Target store and panicked. However, she would go off with anyone who said they would help her. And that is not always good!

I'm in MB waiting for OneLostGirl. We will be hitting many of the places where there have been more possible sightings.
I see flyers up at the places I approached last week. So grateful.

Lera ,they are still in a panic . Truthfully ,my hands are shaking now that I'm here.
They did stay at that hotel for two weeks. I've located some vacancies if they can get back this week, but hopefully Johnny will be located TODAY .

May your generous and selfless efforts be quickly rewarded!
