His sister Julie will be on Tricia's radio show tomorrow. http://www.blogtalkradio.com/websleuths The show normally lasts an hour but will go into the second hour so she can talk to Julie. I just got off the phone with Julie and put together a timeline of the case. Since this is coming from Julie I think this is the most accurate reporting we'll find.

The family arrived at the Seacrest hotel at 803 ocean blvd. on Thursday 8/2/2012. http://www.myrtlebeach-resorts.com/sea-crest/

On Friday at about 3:30pm Johnny said he was going to the “Family Kingdom Amusement Park” which is about two blocks away. He left his wallet and ID, and probably had about $20 on him total and no jewelry.

At 4:30pm the family went to dinner at a restaurant and when they got back they noticed Johnny hadn’t returned. They went looking for him up by the amusement park and continued to drive around looking for him until about 5:30 in the morning. While looking they saw two police officers and stopped them. The family told the officers that Johnny was missing and gave them a description of him and what he was wearing.

On Saturday morning, the 4th, a hotel worker told them that he had been across the street around 5:30pm on Friday. She didn’t know who he was or that he was missing. Johnny had said he was missing his family and went off in the opposite direction of the amusement park. The hotel worker also saw him on her way into work that morning. She told them he was sitting on the curb by a bank.

The family left to look for him and got there about 3:30pm. They stopped into nearby stores to ask about him. They found out he’d been at the BBQ place next to the bank and the BBQ place had fed him at about 12:30pm and they had just missed him by about three hours.

Friday night about 10pm he had been stopped by police in Surfside off the bypass near Georgetown because he was walking alone down the highway. (He had gotten there by taking a cab, but the driver found out he had no money and she wouldn’t take him any farther because she couldn’t understand him, but she didn’t call the cops on him either.) The missing persons report hadn’t gone through yet and they didn’t know about him being lost. He told the police about the Seacrest Hotel and they called the hotel to ask if anyone knew of a worker like him. Nobody knew a worker by that name and were unaware he was missing.

The family looked for him all day Saturday, but since they didn’t know he had gotten a cab the night before, they didn’t go all the way into Surfside.

When the grandkids got home on Sunday they found out he had called on Friday night from a Chic Fil-A, Arby’s and from a couple of cell numbers to his home in Georgia.

On Monday Julie contacted the Myrtle Beach police with the phone numbers he had called from. They tracked one of them to a beach store he had called from on Saturday the 4th about 9am. The family went to the store and ID’d him when they saw the surveillance video. That’s the last reliable sighting they’ve had of him.

There was a sighting on the 13th at Mcdonald’s in Surfside. A woman pulled up to the drivethru window and there was a man standing there at the ordering board, and she didn’t know anything about the case and rolled up windows and drove around. She was a little nervous about him. When she got home she turned on the news and saw a story about him and recognized him immediately. She called the Surfside PD and the police said it’s not their jurisdiction and to call Horry county. She called them but they told her it was Surfside PD she should call. She demanded they check it out, but they appear to have let it go. She called the news and left a message. The next morning she called Julie crying because she felt like she was responsible for not getting him help.

Another sighting was from someone calling from their home who had returned on the 14th of August after staying at the Seacrest hotel. They had stayed there for eight days and they think they saw him four or five times while there.

After that somebody said they saw him at the Conway soup kitchen between the 20th and 24th.

The latest possible sighting might have been at a Surfside flea market on early Friday morning the 24th.

TES is planning to come in and should be on the ground by Wednesday, but the Labor Day holiday may push it back to the 7th or 8th.

If you see him tell him “Ruby Pops”, “Blackie”, “Rev.” and Julieanne are looking for you. Call home Johnny. Stay with him. He’s afraid of police so call the number on the poster first. Julieanne’s number is: 404-576-6306.

Some identifying characteristics are that he will always nod his head. He looks down and messes with his ankles. If you ask him do you live in Cartersville Georgia he’ll know it.

Since the picture on the poster was taken he may have grown a beard, his hair would be thicker and he might be wearing a beige camouflage hat and may look very tired and disoriented.

The people in their town have been helping out with expenses so they can go back on the 31st and stay until the 3rd or 4th to continue looking. They had to leave on the 14th of August earlier.

I'm praying that tomorrow's radio show has Tricia talking to Julie about his homecoming rather than what we can do to find him. :sigh:

Love that optimism and I am so with you on that sentiment!

AND...what we can do for folks in the future who are not capable of speaking/fending for themselves properly! All the disabled, handicapped, special needs folks. And elderly too!

Just rips my heart out!

I don't believe in coincidences .It was meant to be. Gives me chills the way things work out sometimes.
Such good that TES will be involved .
You are a blessing ,Nonni Brenda.

You're right MJ. God has everything planned already...You are a blessing yourself! As well as all on WS. I love you people! We'll keep praying for all these that are missing...

I just met with Johnny's dad and mom. They gave me some of Johnny's clothes and has favorite pair of shoes. I'll be on my way to Myrtle Beach about 8am. They are such a sweet family. Mr. Brown is a minister, and prayed the most touching prayer while I was there. I really feel good about finding Johnny, especially now that Tim Miller is involved. So, MissJames and OLG, looks like I'll be seeing you sometimes tomorrow.

ETA: If any of you other Ga. people would like to ride with me, and are able to, you're welcome. Just let me know tonight. I've cleared my time through Tues AM.

Still praying for Johnny.

Johnny you've touched me buddy! I hope you are out there safe and sound with someone who cares and will help you find your way home. We are looking for you and we care. Hugs to the family.

I understand there is only so much that can be done, but really? This is a matter of safety for this young man, and it might get pushed back a WEEK?!?

ETA: 10 days!!

I'm thinking now if Tim Miller wont be there till later in the week, or even the 8th, it may be useless to take Johnny's clothes there now for the dogs to get a scent. I wouldn't know who to give them to.
Problem for me is I have a medical procedure on Thurs, and have to be back in Cartersville on Wed this next week to get ready for that. I don't feel good about leaving his clothing with the local police. What do you all think?

Wow Steely Dan ,Excellent info.
I've talked to Johnny's sister at least a dozen times and didn't get half that info,so you have excellent interviewing skills! Kudos!

Today OLG ( a real hero and all around great person to be in the trenches with) and I hit the Hudson's Flea Market in Surfside Beach for starters. MBPD told the family that someone called and said they thought they saw JB there.

There was a vendor who was positive she saw Johnny and had a bit of interaction with him Friday some time before lunch .She thinks he may have long pants on.

A food vendor is almost positive that he saw Johnny at the flea market the previous weekend.
Several others are pretty sure or think they saw him ,some of them yesterday.

A Surfside police officer met us there after we each got verification of sightings and he walked through the rest of the market with us. He will follow up in that area.

We drove to an interesting motel where Johnny was seen, and spoke With the manager who had see him there ,but that was awhile back.Another person directed the family to that motel.
He was also seen yesterday mid-morning ,by a WS reader ,on the frontage road near Old Town Pottery . There is a McDonald's in the parking lot of Old Town Pottery and I wonder if it's the same one someone reported seeing him at.
CJ said she recognized his shirt and hat ,but he had what appeared to be a golf umbrella and was wearing jeans that were too long ,too tight ,appeared to ladies and had lightening type designs on the back pockets .

I got a room at the Surfside Beach Resort where Bellyup thought she spotted him when they were on vacation. They had up a flyer that I gave them on Wed. so yay !
We went to the bar and grill across the street .I was there Wed. morning ,so other staff helped us tonight.
They recall that he came in (if it was him) with a much younger white male. They carded but the black male didn't have ID and never talked.Couldn't remember dates .Knew he older than the male he came in with.
We then went back to some areas between places Johnny was seen at .There are woods where some homeless sometimes camp.We didn't go in but yelled for Johnny using the names of family and where he lives. Nada.
I was becoming ill and decided I needed to return home after OneLostGirl went home.

My sense is that he remains in that general area ,the awareness level has been raised a little bit ,now , and he can still be found.
There are many nore bits of info ,but I really need to sleep.
Maybe tonight will be the night !

I'm not sure anymore . Hopefully he will go back to one of these areas and will come home .
You are an angel to be willing to drop everything and bring Johnny's items to MB for tracking .Will check in with you Sunday.

It is uplifting to hear that more people are learning about him and will be on the look out. And I hope it is true that he has been seen with a companion or two. Maybe he has found some helpful friends to help him get by until he can be found and brought home. It was painful to think about him being all alone in the dark, hungry and scared. I am sure he is very scared but at least he is not alone. I hope so anyway.

I am so proud and grateful to all of you who are out looking and calling and sending e-mails. THANK YOU ALL> :tyou::tyou::tyou:

I'm sure if Tim could be there he would. I'm sure there is a very good reason he's thinking they may have to push it back. The man knows what he's doing. JMO

Yesterday! That is great. I was afraid he had hitched a ride out of the area. Did you put up fliers at the flea market? Wouldn't it be great if Johnny saw his pic on the flier? He could show it to someone.

Unfortunately with his speach impediment, people may think he is intoxicated if he tries to talk to them.

I don't doubt it at all. It's hard for me to think of this poor man out there for another, possibly, 10-14 days.

Praying he comes home tonight.

I agree SD. I'm leaning toward not going now, waiting until I know Tim will be there and give the clothes directly to him or his people. Don't want them to get misplaced by giving them to the wrong people IYKWIM. Thanks MissJames and ILG, and everyone for all you are doing. Thanks also for everyone's prayers.

All the most recent sightings have been in the same general area . Since those who have reported seeing him in that area ,are not related,I have to believe it's probably him.

The fact that the family allowed him to go to Family Kingdom alone means he has a higher skill level than I thought, and that's good news. He must be more capable ,which is a relief.
