Thanks for that information Nonni! I wonder why she mentioned Ninety Six, SC as being a possible place that Johnny could be - other than it being a place where "black people hang out and help each other find work"? Ninety Six is west of Columbia, SC, and actually about 50 miles North West of where I live (North Augusta, SC). That would be a LONG ways inland for Johnny to have traveled, and he would have gone right over I-20, which is how he got from Atlanta to Myrtle Beach. The other place she mentioned "Marlin" - could be Mauldin, SC, but that is even farther inland, all the way up to the upstate of South Carolina near Greenville. I think it is more likely a town called Mullins, which is between Florence and North Myrtle Beach, and only about 50 miles away. I am curious how these two places ended up being a place she thought we should look.
I think Johnny is probably much more functional than we originally thought, and his alcohol addiction may be one of his biggest problems. I saw a message on the 'Helping The Johnny Lamar Brown's Family' facebook page from a lady who said she had worked with Johnny in 1998 at Mudd Jeans in Cartersville, GA. I searched, and Mudd Jeans apparently has a distribution warehouse there, so Johnny had that job at one point. Now, my fear is that Johnny may have overdosed, or is in pretty bad condition from not just alcohol, but possibly new drugs that he has not had prior experience with. I almost feel more desperate to find him now!!! I hope LE has pressured Roger pretty hard!
