Man with history of mental illness reported missing in Sumter County

Sumter County is searching for Joseph Davies, 40, who is missing.
Family members have not seen him since around May 20.
Davies has brown eyes, brown hair, is 5-foot-9 and weighs 200 lbs.

Davies typically wears camouflage or gray shorts, t-shirts and sneakers, according to deputies.

Family members shared that he has a history of mental illness and they are worried that they’ve not heard from Joseph.

SCSO has provided 2 additional photos of Joseph that are more recent; they show his tattoos. He appears to have sleeves going down both arms and a fairly large tat on his neck.

Sumter County man reported missing found safe


SUMTER COUNTY, S.C. (WIS) - The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office has located a 40-year-old man who was reported missing.

Family members reported that they hadn’t heard from Joseph Davies since May 20.

On June 14, officials reported that Davies had been found and is safe.
