The only facts provided by police and MSM to the public are:
  1. Jack and Lilly were seen in video footage with "family members" on the afternoon of May 1 in New Glasgow, NS.
  2. Malehya made a 911 call around 10 am on May 2 to report Jack and Lilly missing.
  3. RCMP have repeatedly said there is no evidence to suggest the children were abducted (and stick to that claim as of June 21 CBC News Nova Scotia short police clip).
  4. The only evidence reported by the RCMP is that they found what they described as a child-sized boot print, but did not confirm it belonged to Jack or Lilly.
Everything else is hearsay -- and hearsay springs from intention to paint a particular picture.

MOO: I do not believe the children were ever in the woods. The only plausible theory (in my mind) is that they were handed off to someone known to either Malehya or Daniel, and were taken away by car. It is impossible to think trained police dogs could not detect any scent of the children if they had wandered anywhere on foot. As for whether they are alive or not, I hope the RCMP is closing in on finding the answer.
BBM, and this is currently my theory. I keep coming back to MBM's interview, when she says "they'll talk to anyone in a store" and the fact they were last seen on surveillance footage from a store in New Glasgow. MOO that's when they were handed off to someone they know. Crazy how different this is from my original thoughts...

The question I keep coming back to is whether or not Lilly and Jack definitely made it home from New Glasgow on May 1st
MOO I now believe they did not make it home from New Glasgow.

The fact that they haven't brought in cadaver dogs, in my opinion means the RCMP do not believe they are in the woods. I honestly believe the RCMP knows a lot more than they are choosing to share with the public...
Daniel did say in the interview that there is a lot more evidence that the public don't know about , when he spoke about the bootprint and the piece of blanket

Well this desk jockey did mention that searchers were on the job previously looking for the missing kayaker, which leads me to this question I asked before, did they have enough LE working that bush and home from the getgo? I wonder if this guy actually attended the scene or is he just the media relations guy? He mentioned at times they get tips from outside the area, and they have to follow those up also. I wonder if that is in reference to where MBM may now be living? He stated he had worked with the investigators previously in his career, and they were seasoned investigators, I wish one of them could elaborate on their gut feeling, causes I'm sure they all have one if they are seasoned.

MOO I now believe they did not make it home from New Glasgow.
So in that theory...

1. Who were they handed off to?
2. Why were they handed off?
3. Why phone 911 at 10am the next day?
4. Why would both their mom & DM lie about it?

I don't believe they were handed over in New Glasgow the chance of being caught on cctv or dashcams would create too big a risk no matter what the odds

I wouldn't rule out them being handed over enroute home in a more remote location but it would be at the lower end of a list of possibilities for me .

The one thing that prevents me from believing that both parents are aware of what happened and are covering for each other is usually in a scenario like that the couple don't separate so quickly they tend to stick together.

A quote I like is "together we stand tall divided we fall "

If both parents done something that is shared knowledge between them , the fact of the matter is in a situation like this with Malehya leaving Daniel ,no contact ,changing status to single ,it becomes dog eat dog . Both would become paranoid that the other would crack ,so both would want to get there side across first .

Unless dun dun dun , that was the plan all along to point the finger of suspicion Daniels way as he was the better liar

But would Daniel risk losing his three bio children to cover for Malehya and two step children ( please don't take that as I'm referring to lilly and jack as less than because I'm most definitely not it's just that in most cases blood is thicker than water )

If we take a look at jack and lillys bio dad relinquishing custody and I'm not judging but Daniel could have done that too I would imagine and he didn't. So he obviously loves his children enough to remain in their lives , is he going to risk that for a woman he knows 2/3 years for a prison stint that may cost him not only his own freedom but his own kids childhood idk

An accident like this can happen even with adults present. A child is not unsupervised if playing in a different room in the house. If that constitutes being unsupervised then every parent would be a criminal.

So true!
When my sister was almost 2, she pushed a chair up to the stove, turned a burner on and burned her hand. My dad just happened to step out of the room for a moment when this occurred. It happened so fast.

Here’s a new little video, I gotta say, LE is very tight lipped

Thank you, a very guarded RCMP spokesperson that’s for sure. IMO he’s holding on to the belief the children may still be alive.

At about the 4:30 mark

Q. Do you have a case? Are you building a specific case that’s leading you in a certain direction?

A. In this case the investigation is still being investigated under the missing person’s act.

I honestly think those precious kids were handed off to someone, maybe in Glasgow.

Police in Nova Scotia say there's no evidence to suggest two missing children were abducted. Cpl. Guillaume Tremblay with Nova Scotia RCMP spoke to the CBC's Kayla Hounsell about the investigation into Lilly and Jack Sullivan's disappearance.
———-
So if the children were Not abducted and if the children are indeed missing but still alive this leaves only one possibility that I can think of. >>> The children were handed over willingly by MBM with her consent to someone else who is caring for them. But if so, what’s she afraid of and why can’t she admit it? Has she lost contact with that person, no longer knows where her children are? Is some kind of potential profit motivating her silence? Perplexed..!

Any laws about leaving a child home alone are AFAIK about extended periods of time - say, parents going away for a weekend or partying and such.
I live in Europe but am Canadian and British originally. Grew up in Canada in the 70's and 80's (plus Britain a bit). I don't have children myself. In this kind of context, I would interpret extended periods of time as less than going away for a weekend, even for 11-14 year olds, and certainly for 7-10 year olds. In fact, I'd be wary of children being left alone at night, I don't think it's normal in the W. European country I live in, never mind a whole weekend. When friends of mine were once away overnight on a school night, they asked if I could sleep at their place just to have an adult there for their 12yo son and 15yo daughter, just in case.

What strikes me as a little problematic in what we know of L and J's case is that L went in and out of the room where her mother and DM were and J never at all. I wonder why they never called him to just say 'hey, hi, good morning' just to glimpse him. Or why he didn't run in to them briefly. There could me an innocuous reason. I guess some children don't gravitate to their parents to touch base so to speak. In addition, L was eventually told to be quieter or not come in the room anymore (?) to not wake up the baby. On the one hand, that does make sense, but on the other hand, if I remember back to my childhood in Canada, one parent would eventually get up with us children, even if the other was too exhausted, sick or whatever... I think as children we would have known that whatever we could have gone into their room even if they were still in bed. For a few weeks my mother and 2 sibs were actually sick in bed, but I could still go in if I needed something. I imagine that my mother was still aware of where I was in the house. I was only 7 then. So I think depending on individual children, lay-out of the house plus how much sound travels within that house/dwelling, a lot of variation possible, but it's problematic when at least one parent doesn't have half an ear open.

MOO

"Police and investigators are working tirelessly to find answers, and I urge anyone with information to please share this with the RCMP as soon as possible,” said Provincial Justice Minister Becky Druhan in a statement.

The reward amount depends on the information's "investigative value," per the government. RCMP have received over 500 tips, but no confirmed sightings

The Sipekne’katik First Nation won a sizable land claim settlement in 2020. This announcement says the money was paid to members age 19 and older and is being held in trust for members under 18. Lilly, a member born in about 2019, would benefit in her future from this, hoping she’s found alive. No idea what happens to her share if she’s not.

I am jumping in on this and haven't read everything so I am sorry if already discussed!
The weather in Pictou, NS on May 2nd was a low of 34 according to Accuweather. That is really cold! It is hard to imagine a 4 and 6 yr old choosing that day to wander so deeply into thick woods that they vanish.
