Deceased/Not Found SC - Leonna Wright, 1, Pendleton, 6 June 2015 *Arrests in 2020*

Checking in this morning to see if, by chance this precious and beautiful baby girl's little body has been found. It breaks my heart and I think about her all the time. Somebody needs to talk and tell the truth!

I ask myself that all the time, meetingsaramarshall. I feel almost like it's some kind of horrible epidemic, it's happening so much...Why do these parents and adults just kill and dispose of their children, like they are nothing??? I can't wrap my head around it!!!

WHERE IS BABY LEONA?!?!

After watching the FOX Carolina 21 embedded video at this link, which was filled with Baby Leona's images - and pointedly ignoring everything else my fellow WSers have so eloquently and sleuthily noticed about this case (that I admit makes my blood boil with anger :stormingmad: )
http://www.foxcarolina.com/story/29...-missing-1-year-old-girl#.VXr91L6gSW8.twitter

I decided to post every single image here to her thread.....

Someone knows something. That might even be plural. :dunno:
Look at her beautiful face! How could anyone harm a hair on her precious head? Much less keep silent if you knew anything about what happened to her?

WHERE IS BABY LEONA?!?!?

IF there is foul play involved, I think we all essentially know what happened....

Baby girl wouldn't stop crying... Someone (prolly a single individual) couldn't get her to stop, lost his/her temper, and did ~whatever~ until she stopped. Then, realizing what he/she had done, put her body in a trash bag (please excuse), and threw her little body in a dumpster/put her body down a storm drain/walked a good ways away (since no vehicle) and dug a hole and buried her/threw her body in a pond or lake or well. Same M.O. as we have seen & seen & seen. Just dammit.

Why would the Anderson County sheriff decline the FBI's help? He said he had enough resources at the present time! With a missing baby I'd think he would want to take advantage of any offers to help!! The tone of this article makes me think it's an ego thing on the part of the sheriff! There's a missing baby - TAKE THE OFFER OF HELP!

I can think of 2 reasons to turn down the FBI's help.
1. Ego, as suggested by wvcountrygirl is one.
2. The other is that the sheriff has information that is not for public release & has a pretty good idea of what happened. This ties in with this statement that he made “We are continuing to evaluate the evidence,” he said, adding that investigators also have identified “a couple of people we’re trying to find.”

He's consulted with the FBI & they're ready to help if necessary, however if he knows he's looking for a body it's probably not the best use of FBI resources.

JMO.

I would be shocked, at this point, to find a living, breathing baby. IMO this has shifted to figuring out a suspect and recovering a body.

Our sheriff has a HUGE ego, I must say. But I thought the FBI declined to come because it is not considered a kidnapping... Day after day there's no new information. IMO they really need to put the screws to the boyfriend and mother and go as far as the law allows to make them talk.

:( Nothing, nothing and more nothing.

Leaona's family, friends and concerned members of the community gathered at the parking lot of the Family Dollar store on South Main Street at 1 p.m. The group held a march and mass flyer distribution as they continue to push for answers in the baby's disappearance.

"It's the seventh day, it's been a week so we need the community to come together," said Traci Fant, a community activist. "It's about solidarity and finding the baby."

While I'm glad the community is involved and keeping Leaona's story in the media I'm not sure that distributing flyers and praying is going to do much.

IMO the answers lie with Leaona's mom and her boyfriend.

No earthly idea what a march would accomplish, but they marched today..

It's a circus... I really want this mother to crack and spill it. She knows.

Does anyone think there's any chance at all that's she's alive and someone has her?

I just want to believe that for some reason, but I'm having a hard time. I think that precious little baby is no longer with us. I'm heartbroken over this.

IMHO, no. There are rumors that she was sold for drug, etc. But I believe that's a far fetched story. I believe the mom's event that night ended around midnight, boyfriendwas po'd when she got home at 5, a fight ensued and poor baby took the brunt of it.

I was watching Lt. Joe Kenda last night and then read about a horrific story he worked.. this rang true:

"Tracking down witnesses: You’d think residents of that neighborhood would have been frightened & horrified. You’d picture them falling all over themselves to aid in the police investigation. They should have been outside, milling around, demanding police get rid of the monster in their midst. At the time, the press thought so, too. They were surprised that residents & neighbors did not help–or even show up, looking worried. Potential witnesses avoided the police. They stayed silent, even when they had information. Lt. Joe says that, in a bad neighborhood, that’s an ordinary pattern of behavior. People have criminal histories, outstanding arrest warrants. They don’t invite police notice."

such a sad case. the very first image on the first page of this thread shows how happy and joyful Leaona is. I think that those who were involved in whatever occurred should realize that the truth WILL come out. Hope that this beautiful baby is alive by some miracle.

I get what I call delusional thinking in a lot of cases at about this point. Despite all we know and don't know, I imagine some fantasy situation where the fairy Godmother of sorts swooped in and saved the baby. I want to believe it, too.

I'm not even sure I believe 5:30 am was the only time mom got home after her night out. The neighbor lady said she seen her arriving home at that time, but as I stated up thread, she could have come & gone half a dozen times between midnight & 5:30 am and wasn't seen specifically. I'm not too sure mom didn't go dispose of the baby and was seen coming home from that. Somebody could have picked her up at any time.

I fear this becoming a cold case. I don't put a lot of faith in our sheriff's department. :( Unless pressure is applied, unless they go through Edgewood and serve all the bench warrants, nobody is going to talk about what they know.
