SC SC - Marjorie 'Gayle' McCaffrey, 36, West Ashley, 18 March 2012 *husband guilty*

waitttttttt one second!

the first news articles (page 1 of the threads) say they lived on Limestone Blvd. in West Ashley.

looking at the ticket, one will see that the officer put RM's address as 1078 Freeman Bridge Road, EASLEY, SC 29640... so HE must have lived at that address at one time or another as that was probably the address on his driver's license?... but why did his sister say that they didnt have a home there? I did a mapquest look up from the address on the ticket to Club Drive in Travelers Rest and it's about 23 minutes (at speed limit). i cringe at the thought of MGM being in the trunk or something while he was pulled over. ughh.

there is also a nearby "Paris Mountain State Park" to Club Drive.

please assist me if anything above seems to be incorrect. :D TIA!

Glad you noticed the address was in Easley, I saw it on the ticket and assumed it was in West Ashley.

ETA: The house is on 157 acres according to Zillow and Trulia websites.

PMLsmom- sorry I have no clue how to post a pic of the speeding ticket.

This just in! Hubby's story gets a hole shot in it (kinda). BBM

The home in Easley on Freeman Bridge Road is where Gayle McCaffrey's aunt and uncle live.

The man who answered the door, and said he was Gayle McCaffrey's uncle, told News 4 Bob McCaffrey never came to the home, but said he and other family members don't believe Bob McCaffrey had anything to do with his wife's disappearance.

Why would you drive, after a fight with your wife, in the middle of the frickin night to your wife's aunt and uncle's house?? Unless they had some sort of guest house that they routinely used? But still strange. And then he never showed up there, just went home after 8 hours of driving around in the dark.

Why would he give the address of Gayle's aunt and uncle to the LE when he was pulled over for the ticket? If he was innocent and was just driving around to cool down, one would think he would give his address in West Ashely.
Guess maybe he needed an address for LE to possibly explain why he would be this far away from home at 2 am and possibly thought it would never be checked.

Uh-oh. 20 miles NW of Easley is this lake. I just tried to pick the most northwesterly route, but not sure exactly where he was stopped for the ticket. JMO and guess.

Well, if there's any good news it's that they may have some idea where he "dumped" (lovely) his wife's body. There was obviously no time to pull out a boat...

--that's quite a ridiculous stmt. to make to LE then by robert, surely he knows LE will check out this place in pickens county immediatley.

--marjorie's sister also says , on her F/B, that the kids are in seperate foster homes, even family can't see them until thursday.

--thank God LE took them away from him a.s.a.p. and they are safe somewhere.

--the 10 year old in particular may have info on just what he was up to from the time he returned sunday morning at 6:30------until he called LE 11 hours later , at 5:45 p.m.

BBM
I think that is exactly why they are in PC and unable to see even their own family.

The husband is not cooperating. This article states that relatives reported her missing.
Also:
In December he lost a steady job in government contracting. Gillespie hired him to renovate a mountain home she owns in Brevard, N.C. He had been taking the nearly five-hour drive every week.
The time apart took a toll on their marriage. His wife also discovered emails he had exchanged with another woman, according to Gillespie.

"On Wednesday, a prayer service will be held at First Baptist Church in downtown Charleston at 6 p.m. for missing mother of two, Marjorie Gayle McCaffrey. The public is invited to attend."

"According to the attorney for Gayle's husband, he does plan to fight to regain custody of his two children. A hearing is expected this week."

I sincerely hope he is unsuccessful pending the resolution of this case. Perhaps, at the absolute least, a judge can order a psychological evaluation and child abuse risk assessment before making any custodial determinations.

I cannot remember another case in which children were removed from the home on the basis of a missing adult investigation which leads me to believe there is evidence to suggest something more sinister. Mr. McCaffrey may well have an uphill battle retaining custody of the kids. :please:

A typed note left at the home said she wanted to be somewhere else, possibly with someone else.
But for McCaffrey's family, the story doesn't add up. It just doesn't sound like the devout Baptist who loved her children and her hometown and had just spent hours making her husband a St. Patrick's Day meal.

"None of us can grasp what's happening," said Kathy Gillespie, McCaffrey's aunt who said she was a guest for the dinner Saturday. "We have lots of fears, but we're praying she'll walk through the door."

Mmmhmm. This story is just as believable as when Drew Peterson told it... :banghead:

You know, that speeding ticket really "saved the day" if you will. Imagine if he didn't get that ticket.

Just think what would have happened:
He would call up family the next day and ask if they know where Gayle is. They would ask him what he is talking about. He would tell them that Gayle has been talking about leaving him and the kids for a mystery man. Mystery man came to pick her up. Hubby wants her back, please if you see her, can you tell her that he is still in love and wants to work on the marriage? Family/friends are leary and might suspect something, but hey- no one wants to imagine that dear old hubby could have done something. And maybe Gayle could have ran away to a "better life". If they cast an jaundiced eye towards hubby- there is really not much to go on. It might be days before action is taken.

Then Hubby gets speeding ticket. Talk about a wrench in his plan. Now he has to hurry and come up with a new story. He must have been sweating bullets when he was pulled over.

911 Recording Released Of Report Of Missing Charleston Woman

Thanks- you beat me to it. I don't know what normal people are supposed to sound like, but he makes a small (lame) joke in the call and that is a little weird to me. But then again, not sure what I would do.
He also says he leaves at 9:30 not 10:00.
He is very quiet- tired from the night before? Emotionally drained? IDK.
