"FBI is seeking information on the whereabouts of Jennifer Lea Settle and her daughter McKenna Butcher. Special Agent Robert H. says the alleged abduction happened in April after Settle learned that Mckenna's father would receive full custody. It was at that point that Jennifer took Mckenna to Maryland and visited some family friends where she told them that she was going to disappear and that they would never hear from her again. Mckenna's father, Michael Butcher, says he is desperate to see his daughter again.

GREENVILLE COUNTY, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - Five years after McKenna Butcher disappeared, investigators still believe the key to finding her is in the Upstate.

"We think somebody locally may have given her names of a relative or friend in another state, in another country, to help her hide for this long,” Peeples said. “We believe the key to finding McKenna is right here in Greenville. Not that she’s physically here, but somebody here in Greenville, Greenville County, Spartanburg, Anderson. Someone who knew her mother knows exactly where they were, where they are, and they helped them take her. And it’s time for her to come back home.”

McKenna will celebrate her 17th birthday in November and Butcher said he has only seen her once since she was a small child.
