SIMPSONVILLE, SC — A 31-year-old woman from Simpsonville, S.C., who was headed to Zellwood, Fla., was reported missing, authorities said Thursday.

Myranda Dale Southern, who also goes by Myranda Whisenant, was last seen on Aug. 19 at her job in Simpsonville, authorities said.

"Searcy said Southern had two children, 8 and 10 years old whom she loved very much.

"We haven't heard from her at all. Monday was her daughters birthday and she is an amazing mother and would have never missed her daughters birthday," said Searcy."

She'd have most likely traveled I-26 to I-95, a little over 500 miles.

Searcy said Southern let her children go visit her mother for a week before they were to go back to school on Wednesday. Searcy said Southern missed her children very much and decided to head down early on Monday to get them.

Searcy said the only contact Southern has made was on facebook but the message she left, Searcy said was not in words she would use.

Investigators say she may be driving a beige 4-door 2000 Buick LeSabre with South Carolina tag IEP-812.

It also seems they are having trouble with the police department, so hopefully they will be able to help them soon.

I don't FB, but I'm waiting to hear more news about Myranda. At this point it seems she never left SC.

The timeline on his FB is confused but he seems to be involved with someone else. Not sure how long he and Myranda have been estranged.

Her children are adorable and look very happy and loved! My gut tells me she wouldn't just up and leave--this may turn out very sad....

I was in Simpsonville yesterday and did not see a poster or anything. I too always wonder the truth when the estranged husband is involved.
Where does this husband live and if she moved from Lake Mary a few years ago, are they still married or divorced? Estranged or EX? I wonder what he said when he arrived to pick up the children. Was this before or after she was reported missing?
