Hey yall, new here. I'm not sure where to start. I'm honestly trying to get some ideas of where to look for information. I had a great aunt that passed away several years ago when I was about 8 or 9. My grandma always thought that my aunts husband was responsible for her death and used her cancer diagnosis as a cover up. He had her cremated the very next day even though she always told us she wanted to be buried. She also told all of her great nieces and nephews that in her will everything was to be split between the 5 of us. But no one ever saw a will. Her husband said she didn't have one. I honestly don't even know if this man is still alive. Wondering where I could search his name for information.

Hi there. Sorry to hear of your great aunt's passing and the situation. I would suggest contacting the courts where your great aunt lived. Their probate office should have a record of the will if there was one filed. Beyond that, you could Google the husband's name or check websites like whitepages.com. Unfortunately, unless there is some kind of evidence of wrongdoing (which you would share with the prosecutor's office where she lived), there may not be much you can do, short of paying an attorney or private investigator to look into it.
