Rev. Clements Pinckney, a SC legislator is among the 9 killed in SC church. I am reminded that he helped lead our prayer vigil for Scott.

He said it on MSNBC too. Unfortunately, I don't think it's his place to make this announcement. I can't imagine how the family is feeling right now.

South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley (R) said in a statement Wednesday night that she is praying for the victims and their families.

“While we do not yet know all of the details, we do know that we’ll never understand what motivates anyone to enter one of our places of worship and take the life of another,” she said. “Please join us in lifting up the victims and their families with our love and prayers.”

Pinckney has been in South Carolina’s legislature since 1996, when he was elected as a state representative at the age of 23, according to his biography on the church’s website. He was the youngest African American elected to the legislature.

Tragic. At 23, I was smoking weed and living off of my parents. Until they yanked a knot in my tail.

This was a person of substance it would seem, unlike myself.

I'm seeing it too, crediting ABC4 with the news. But I'd closed my live feed so didn't hear it - if it was in fact said.
