Did McManigal say if Paul's phone had a "security lockout" message or a "device unavailable" message on the screen when he received it? I'm curious to know if it was disabled before LE received it.

The defense used their cross-examination of Croft to try to poke holes in how the investigation unfolded. Croft was asked if he knew why state agents didn’t search Murdaugh’s home in the hours after the killings for dirty clothes, possible blood in drains or other evidence. Croft said he didn’t know what other agents did.

Griffin also asked Croft why agents didn’t search Murdaugh’s mother’s home until September — three months after the killings — even though that was the only place Murdaugh said he went before finding the bodies.

“I know I did not go and I’m not sure what any of the other agents in the investigative circle had done,” Croft said.

The agent had a good answer/non answer anyway. I’m hoping that DH digs into a lot that LE didn’t do actually. We remember that when this happened AM still had the good ole boy security blanket, much like with other white glove treatments that the family enjoyed. That’s why, much like the boat crash, we see a totally different investigation than we would have seen if this were rural poor lowcountry folks.

I haven’t been able to go through the threads too deep, but I’m curious how others feel about this: from the very beginning, myself and others in the region assumed that AM hired one or more other people to kill his family, not that he did it himself.

Knowing his type, and later finding out more info about his involvement with drugs, only made this feeling stronger.

I theorized that it would be a while before this went to trial and that the investigation would be long and arduous trying to identify who he hired and finding the evidence to link him to them. So it’s been pretty surprising to find that this is not the state’s theory and frankly, I’m starting to get a little concerned that they jumped the gun in coming to trial.

Does anyone else feel the same or are most people absolutely convinced he did it and that he’s the trigger man?
I totally feel the same. I'm very irritated that AM could not be charged with conspiracy to commit murder. I don't think prosecution has proven that he pulled the trigger himself and he might just walk on the murder charges.
AM was in deep stuff with all the fraud charges beginning to hit. He needed money to pay off the victims of the frauds. His wife and son were worth a lot of money dead. JMO.

I can't understand why all the confusion about there being two weapons, ie., a shotgun and a rifle. Son shot close range with shotgun. Mother had taken off running and her body was found about 300 feet from the kennels. In order to shoot her, you would need a rifle with a night scope. JMO

The state calls its 14th witness, DNR agent John Bedingfield, a Barnwell man who has a side business building and repairing guns.

If he hired someone, wouldn't he have a better alibi? Visiting his memory-impaired mother late at night isn't very good. I have been wondering about money as a motive. Does anyone know how much the victims were insured for or worth if murdered?

Their grandmothers were sisters according to witness testimony.

Why did they not call the witness regarding Paul's cellphone data immediately after the preceding witnesses establishing how they got into his phone? Now we're back to the guns, seems a bit jumpy

Thermal scopes on the 2 blackout rifles Alex ordered for Paul and Buster for Christmas 2016.

ETA: Could not deliver the suppressors because Alex had not filed the federal paperwork.
