Why did DH ask the judge to recess for the weekend when the state was still in the process of interviewing a witness? Or did I miss something?

I believe it was because the witness was ready for cross by the defense - DH stated he was worried he "wouldn't remember" what he had done today over the weekend.

Well, ok. Apparently DH is planning to spend a lot of time on cross.

Positive Blood + Positive GSR = GUILTY
That's the way I'm seeing it, too. Blood on the steering wheel and GSR, plus blood spatter and DNA on his tshirt. It's interesting watching a defendant on trial who is also a trial attorney. He really knows how to pay attention during the trial, focuses like a laser on certain things. You can almost see the wheels turning.. He always knows what's going on and what has to be done next. The investigators placed their arms on his shoulder trying to console AM as he was crying in that car interview at Moselle
The man in the backseat is AM’s lawyer, Danny Henderson from Parker Law Group.

Don’t forget that SLED members had to drive approximately 2 hours to get there.

AM had summoned and talked to several people by then.

[…]

The interview hours after the killings took place inside a state agent’s vehicle and lasted about 30 minutes. Murdaugh’s personal lawyer sat in the vehicle too.

His communication skills are so lacking -- seems his reason was something about being afraid of forgetting something by Monday. o_O MOO

Now he has all weekend to prepare for his cross!

Listening to the replay of the interview they played earlier in court today Law & Crime is showing during the break and I just caught AM saying he called 911 and "she was really good". I didn't catch that earlier. I feel like that is a weird thing to bring attention to shortly after discovering the bodies of your wife and son. "How you doing?" vibes all over again. MOO
When a car hit and killed my dog I was in shock and devastated. That dog was like one of my kids. The vet had to call someone to come get me. She was wonderful and kept me sane. And all I kept saying afterward was how great she was. I didn’t want to talk about what happened. My brain focused it's thoughts to the one bit of light in my nightmare. So I guess his statement about the 911 operator doesn't seem odd to me. Shock and how the mind tries to protect itself is a really strange thing. MOO

Did LE ask him if he washed off after he allegedly did that? That would be a normal question to ask since LE had been told he had gone up to the house to get a gun. JMO.
All and any questions would be normal. They have to ask him everything.

I'm sorry - I'm not buying this whole "AM is genuinely upset thing". I just watched his reaction to PM's shoes being shown as they were entered into evidence. MOO
Personal theory - I think he is truly upset over his son. Not his wife. I don't think the son was supposed to die that night. Just the wife. A hit gone wrong. I have no facts to back that up. But we know he's hired a hit man in the past for suicide-murder. And 2 guns were used. I'm thinking this was him and a buddy. MOO

Ha, this poor guy needs to retire. I certainly don't know his record from trials. Has he done mainly civil or criminal?

"I went to check on my mom and dad, I knew Maggie had gone to the kennel, I went to my mom's for just a while. I tried texting Maggie, no response. When I got back, nobody was there, drove up and saw and called."

He immediately starts by saying where he was. This is not good. Alibi building.

Even if she had gone to the kennels, would she still be there after his nap and trip to his mom's. He didn't think that through.
Her car was still at the house. The house was empty. She's not answering the phone. So it's logical to start looking on the property in the last place you saw them.

^^bbm

When viewed in full context, I don't think it odd. He was seated in SLED's vehicle and asked to recap the events and he's telling the Investigator that the 911 operator that took his call was really good. And she was. Calm and tried to instruct AM by speaking short commands to him.

I think it's why all were shocked when AM suddenly said he was hanging up because he needs to phone his family. Huh? Generally, dispatch tries to keep you on the call until a first responder arrives. JMO
