I find it difficult to believe that the clean white shirt and the khaki shorts AM was wearing when he called 911, were same clothes he was wearing when he allegedly shot his son and wife, then wore to visit his mom. AM knows all about gun shot residue and blood splatter. He changed clothes somewhere along line. JMO
So how did the GSR and blood splatter transfer to the white shirt?
And another thing, two guns and one shooter? Or does two guns and two shooters make more sense?

WHAT? So he profited from allegedly killing his wife? Two weeks after this, AM was charged with their murders. Did he use proceeds from Maggie’s estate to pay for his defense? Buster should have become the beneficiary.

Alex tried to transfer the entire estate to Buster, but the Judge denied the request to ensure that the property remained in Alex's name so that it could be sold and the proceeds used to pay the $9 million in stolen money.

The Beach family settlement was just approved last week -- see the actual settlement agreement in the MEDIA ONLY thread.

In the settlement, the plaintiffs dropped both MM and Buster from the wrongful death suit and provided that Buster should receive $530K as the sole devisee of the Estate (to be paid from proceeds of Moselle sale).

The $9M estimated in stolen money is alleged and that trial has not happened yet.

MM's Estate properties were heavily leveraged and after the banks, court receivers, estate attorneys, and plaintiffs' attorneys' fees, etc. are paid, there's not so much money left.

To be clear, AM received no monies from MM's Estate and this settlement was only with MM's Estate.

The Beach family has not dropped the wrongful death suits against AM or the Estate of PM.

Theory assuming AM is guilty: AM wore the blue raincoat. He is tall and the coat may not have been that long on him -- microscopic spatter was blown up the bottom of the coat onto the bottom of his T-shirt. He hosed the outside of the jacket off but not the inside. JMO.

Detective Laura Rutland, during cross, explains that she observed a "few clumps of hair and a broken earring near an ATV tire."

She also noticed a few strands of brown hair in Maggie's hands and fingers. She clarifies that this evidence is not an indication of a struggle.

It sounds like the defence wants to argue that Paul and Maggie struggled with the shooter, while explaining that Alex cannot be the shooter because he has no evidence of struggling with anyone. The clumps of hair and earring near the ATV tire could be a result of the being shot in the head, similar to Paul's brain being at his feet.

I cannot take credit for this theory around two guns in this crime -- someone else suggested it but I think it is very plausible.

Remember when Alec is in the car with SLED Agent Owen, Detective Laura Rutland, and AM's attorney? Owen asks Alec about the guns they keep there at Moselle. Alec talks about the "gun room" (at the house) but in an aside he mentions there had been a shotgun left around there (meaning the kennel/hangar area) but he doesn't know what happened to it. Alec adds he was going to need to find out where it is. All said as a very brief passing comment.

The theory here is that was THE shotgun -- Alex had left it down there in his planning. He knew no one would think anything of it -- it might even be assumed "irresponsible" Paul had left it out. Alec did not have to hide a gun.

But the unexpected probably happened for Alec -- that night Paul brought his .300 AR with him when he went to the kennels. Whether Paul drove with Alec or walked down, Alec wasn't counting on Paul having his gun. The two guns out in the open would not have arroused suspicions -- neither Paul nor Maggie would think twice about a lonesome shotgun in the hangar and Paul bringing his AR -- that was probably par for the course.

Continuing, Paul probably propped his gun against the wall as he took videos about 8.45. He then entered the feed room. Alec had already planned his alibi to go to Mom's and 9 o'clock was pressing in. Paul having a gun was a problem plus he was taking videos -- Alec had to neutralize Paul first and act quickly -- so he used the shotgun he had left there to kill Paul.

Maggie hears the blasts and comes around the corner. By then AM seized the opportunity to grab Paul's more lethal rifle to use on Maggie, who we know began to run and is further away. ... we sort of know the rest.

A private investigator had been secretly videoing Paul Murdaugh within three days of his death, and at one point even installed a secret camera at the entrance to the Murdaugh family home in Colleton County where Paul and his mother, Maggie, were murdered in June 2021.

The videos collected by the private investigator have been provided to detectives with South Carolina's State Law Enforcement Division (SLED) as part of the agency's ongoing investigation into Paul and Maggie Murdaugh's murders, as well as other suspected crimes tied to Alex Murdaugh, Maggie's husband and Paul's father.

It sounds like the defence claims that, as Alex got into his car, at 9:06, Maggie's phone was thrown on the side of the road 0.25 miles away from the Moselle property - that could be 0.25M from the kennels, the house, the driveway. I need to listen again to understand what he's saying ...

timestamp 6:23 - says the phone was on the side of the road a quarter of a mile or half a mile away from the Moselle property.

timestamp 7:01 - called texted Maggie at 9:06, as he cranks his car, her phone is being thrown away at 9:06

Agreed! That's also why I think he he agreed to or didn't fight all those "women" on the jury.

Just went back to watch opening statements as I missed the first day of trial .. I'm rather disturbed at a comment made by DH when talking about AM buying two black out guns for each of his sons .. he points to Buster and says that AM bought one gun for Paul and the other for his son, Buster who is sitting in the "audience" seriously .. like this is a movie instead of a murder trial.

Sounds like the theory is that Alex suggested that Paul get the .300 gun before they went to the kennels to check his friend's dog. A shotgun was already in place at the kennels. Maybe it was always Alex's plan to have two different guns to kill two people in a "boat revenge killing" - he wanted to mislead police, including giving the impression of two shooters?

That contradicts other evidence of Paul's shoes facing the storage room when shot. I guess we'll have to wait for testimony to understand how the prosecution interprets the information. Another point to consider is that this information is in an affidavit submitted by the defence - which means the evidence is interpreted to benefit the defendant.

It does support the argument that the shooter was outside the storage room, that Paul was shot from the left, twice, with one shot going through the window. I still can't visualize how he landed face down as he did.

I am thoroughly confused as well.
The report said that the second shot was 'different' than the first in that it was shotshell, commonly known as birdshot.
Are they implying there were two kinds of 'shot' in the shotgun?

I know absolutely nothing about guns/rifles/shotguns. Does anyone have insight into what this might mean?
